Randy Jackson, the music producer and former judge on “American Idol,” is not related to Michael Jackson or Bruno Mars.
The Jackson family, which includes Michael Jackson, does have a member named Randy, but he is different from the Randy Jackson of “American Idol.” Randy Jackson (born Steven Randall Jackson) is the youngest sibling in the Jackson family, which includes Michael, Janet, Jermaine, and several other siblings.
Bruno Mars (whose real name is Peter Gene Hernandez) is also not related to Randy Jackson or the Jackson family. Bruno Mars is of Puerto Rican and Filipino descent.
The only relationship they share is that they are all accomplished entertainers in America’s music industry.

The Jackson Family
Michael Jackson hailed from a family of 11, comprising of him, his parents as well as eight other siblings. The patriarch of the Jackson family is Joe Jackson. He identified his children’s talents at a young age and set out on a mission to turn them into a group of dazzling child stars.
Joe founded The Jackson 5 which comprised of his five eldest sons. The Jackson 5 got their head start by performing at various local venues. They eventually landed a recording deal with Motown in 1969 and proceeded to drop several successful albums. The group was amongst the first black artists to sell more than 100 million records.
The matriarch of the Jackson family is Katherine Jackson, nee Scruse. Katherine was a clarinet and piano player who once aspired to be a country and western singer. She later dropped the ambition and became a homemaker while working various jobs. In recent times, Katherine has received awards on behalf of her late son. She was also appointed the legal guardian of his children.
Among Michael’s eight siblings are five brothers and four girls. The boys are Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Randy while the girls are Rebbie, La Toya, and Janet.
All five boys were at some point a part of The Jackson 5. Jackie, the oldest, now runs a record company and features in a reality TV series. He and his brothers have also performed at the Las Vegas casino circuit. Tito has since built a solo career as a blues musician whilst appearing as a judge on a BBC celebrity singing competition while Jermaine has also built a successful solo career and appeared in several British TV shows.
Unlike his other brothers, Marlon left music and is now a successful real estate agent in South California while the youngest Jackson brother, Randy, real name Steven Randall Jackson, has mostly been heard about in regard to the several legal disputes he has been involved in.
In regards to his sisters, Rebbie, the eldest child in the Jackson family, is an actress and singer just like La Toya. The youngest child in the family, Janet, is, however, the most popular and successful of them all, aside from Michael.
Janet is an accomplished dancer and musician and is renowned for her elaborate stage shows. She has dropped more than nine albums and has sold over 100 million records worldwide. She is one of the bestselling artists of all time and has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
