His Early Life and Career Achievements
Mitchell David Trubisky was born on the 20th of August 1994 in the town of Painesville, Lake County, Ohio. He grew up in Mentor, Lake County and had his high school education at Mentor High School. Trubisky had a stellar career in high school, passing for 9,126 yards and 92 touchdowns. This made him the first quarterback ever in the Greater Cleveland Area to throw for more than 9,000 yards. As a testament to his outstanding performance, Associated Press named Trubisky the best high school football player in the entire state of Ohio in 2012 and awarded him the prestigious Mr Football Award.
Unsurprisingly, Mitchell Trubisky received offers of football scholarships from several colleges but ultimately picked the University Of North Carolina (UNC). His first three seasons at the school was somewhat disappointing; he was redshirted in his first year (2013) and spent the next two seasons (2014 and 2015) as a backup to the starting quarterback. As such, he did not get much game time and couldn’t make much of an impact. Trubisky, however, got his chance to shine when he was made the first-string quarterback in the 2016 season and he did not disappoint. In 13 games for the Tar Heels, he completed 304 of 447 passes for 3,748 yards, 30 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. His incredible performance was enough to catch the attention of various NFL teams despite the fact that he only had one regular-season playing football in college. As a result of the mounting interest, Trubisky decided to forgo his fifth year of college football and instead declared for the 2017 NFL draft. He was picked in the very first round by the Chicago Bears and was the second overall pick of that year’s draft. The Bears signed him to a four-year contract worth $29,032,424.
Mitchell Trubisky is currently in his second season with the Bears. In 17 games for them, he has completed 309 of 491 passes (62.9%) for 3454 yards, 18 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while rushing 66 times for 412 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also has a career passer (QB) rating of 86.7% as at week 6 of the 2018 NFL season. Despite just being in his second year, Trubisky has already set some incredible records on the Bears team. In the 2018 season week four game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he completed 19 of 26 passes for 354 yards, 6 touchdowns with zero interceptions. This incredible feat made him the first quarterback in the history of the Chicago Bears to throw for six touchdowns since Johnny Lujack in 1949. It also made him the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for six or more touchdowns and over 350 passing yards while simultaneously rushing for over 50 yards.

Mitchell Trubisky comes from a tight-knit family of six consisting of dad, Dave Trubisky; mom, Jeanne; younger sister, Mariah and two younger brothers, Manning and Mason. One may not be wrong to conclude that Tribusky’s football prowess is genetic as he comes from a naturally athletic family. His father played three different sports in high school while his mom played as much as four sports in high school. In fact, his parents met while playing flag football (a variation of American football) in college. His younger siblings have also followed in their parent’s, as well as their big brother’s, footsteps and are also involved in sports. Mariah played basketball in high school while younger brothers Manning and Mason also play football in Mentor High School. Mitchell Trubisky credits his parents with instilling in him, the values and work ethics which helped him achieve his NFL dreams.
Jeanne Trubisky is one momma bear. During the 2017 NFL Draft, she caused some controversy when she insisted that Mitchell, who was commonly known as Mitch, should be called Mitchell as that was his given name at birth. According to her, she had informed his football coach in college that his name was Mitchell but for reasons best known to him, they went with Mitch and it became his official name in the football community. Trubisky has however settled the controversy by stating that he is okay with either Mitchell or Mitch.

He was rumoured to be in a relationship with Miss Illinois 2017, Abby Foster after the two were spotted taking a selfie together at a charity event.
