The Atlanta Falcon’s wide receiver Mohamed Sanu is expected to show his athletic prowess this coming season. Prior to his days with the Falcons, he blazed for the Cincinnati Bengals, the side that selected him in the 2012 NFL draft.
Before joining the NFL league, Sanu proved himself to be a fine footballer. He played for the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers University and was a quarterback for the South Brunswick High School football team.
Mohamed Sanu’s Bio
Mohammed Sanu was born on August 22, 1989, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was a student at South Brunswick High school where he participated in the game of football and track events. He left high school earlier than his mates because of his age and later enrolled at the Rutgers University where he focused on football.
With the Rutgers, he was noted as the first wide receiver to play in the school’s history as a freshman. And, throughout his stay with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, he featured in 38 games, recorded 210 receptions for 2,263 yards, 19 touchdowns, with a 3,019 all-purpose yards.
Mohamed Sanu left the Rutgers Scarlet Knights as a junior and indicated his interest to join the National Football League in 2012. That year, he was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals as the 83rd overall pick in the third round. With that, he made his first professional appearance in a game against the Washington Redskins. In that game, he became the first wide receiver in the history of the team to throw a touch down pass. He continued to set impressive records as a rookie until he incurred a toe injury that kept him off the field for a while.
By 2013, he resumed his games and played in all 16 games where he totaled 47 receptions, 455 yards in addition to 2 touchdowns. The following year, his teammates A.J Green and Marvin Jones were placed on the injury reserve list, this made Mohammed Sanu take up bigger roles in most of the team’s games. He completed the season with 56 receptions for 790 yards and 5 touchdowns.
In March 2016, Mohamed Sanu inked a five-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons. With the team, he was selected to play at the Super Bowl game the following year. The team won the game against the New England Patriots as he recorded two receptions for 25 yards.

Mohammed Sanu was born to Samuel Sanu who was an expert when it comes to soccer. His mom Aminata Koroma has lived most of her life in Sierra Leone and the United States of America. Mohammed is one of three siblings, he has a sister named Haja Jabbie and a brother named Samir Sanu.
As a kid, Sanu’s family relocated from Sierra Leone to the United States of America. He was raised somewhere in Sayreville, New Jersey with his other siblings. In the month of May 2017, the family lost the patriarch of their home.
From his name, you could make a perfect guess of his religion. He was named after the Islamic founder, prophet Mohamed. His religion became a thing of interest after the president of the United States of America, Donald Trump placed a travel ban on citizens of some Islamic countries.
As the only practicing Muslim who was supposed to play in the 2017 super bowl competition, he was bothered by the development. Also, while it was imagined on several quarters that he would boycott the game or make a scene in protest, Mohamed played the game and later expressed in an interview that his religion has nothing to do with him being a footballer.

For the records, Mohamed Sanu is off the eligible bachelor’s list. He is affianced to a business tycoon named Lauren Mackenzie. It was sometime in February 2016 that he engaged Lauren in a classy romantic way at the London’s Wembley Stadium during a game between the English Premier League sides Liverpool and Manchester City. Together, they have a son named after the wide receiver. He was born on August 21, 2015.
It was quite surprising that despite being engaged to Lauren, he attended the Falcon’s get together in 2018 with another lady named Dani Lee. No one knows his reasons but there have been speculations suggesting that the footballer may have called off his engagement with Lauren.

A wide receiver’s height is one of his strengths. They are expected to catch passes from the quarterbacks without missing any throws. On Mohamed Sanu’s part, his height has proven to be one of his strengths especially when his performances as a wide receiver is being considered.
