Nate Sudfeld is an active American footballer who plays as a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles’ of NFL. He was selected in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins.

Nate Sudfeld’s Early Life and Career Achievements

The quarterback was born as Nathan Sudfled on the 7th day of the month of October 1993 in Modesto, California and was raised there. His educational pursuit started at Modesto Christain School. Nate Sudfeld was a football whiz during his days at Indiana as he was an active skilled player in the school team. Prior to his commitment at Indiana, he got offers from other schools including UCLA, New Mexico, and Arizona. Although he chose Arizona at first, he later moved to Indiana due to a change in the school’s coaching system.

As a junior at Modesto, his quest as a quarterback became glaring as he replaced Isaiah Burse who was a Fresno State Bound in the school team. All through his days at Modesto, Nate played exceptionally well and recorded 3,300 yards, 33 touchdowns in addition to 16 interceptions. His reward for such an incredible record was not overlooked as he earned the Trans Valley League Outstanding Offensive player award, the second team All-State and the First Team All-District honors.

We wouldn’t be wrong to say that Nate only gained more knowledge and experience in the game as a Freshman. In his second year, he earned his first start against the Bowling Green and later completed the season with 2,523 yards, 21 touchdowns, in addition to 9 interceptions which he attained with a 142.0 pass efficiency rating. The quarterback was named the Big Ten co-freshman of the week after he led a fourth-quarter comeback against Ball State.

Opportunity sprung up for Nate Sudfeld as Cameron Coffman and Tre Roberson decided to transfer to different schools, he became the playmaker of the team, pulling off 1,151 yards alongside 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He was blazing for the team and there was no stopping him until he sustained a shoulder injury which required a surgery. Nonetheless, he received the Academic All-Big Ten honor. In total as a senior, he recorded 3,573 yards alongside 27 touchdowns.

As a result of his stellar performance in college, he got selected by the Washington Redskins in the 2016 NFL draft. He later sealed a deal with the side in a four-year contract worth $2.5 million. Nate Sudfled never participated in any game as a rookie because he was placed on the team’s third-string quarterback. He was later pulled out of the Redskins team on September 2, 2017.

As Nate was pulled out of the Redskins, the following day, the Eagles came for him. He became active the next month and completed 19 out of 23 passes for 134 yards in a game against Dallas, setting a pace of 83 percent over the previous record of 80 percent.

Nate Sudfeld was amongst the Eagles team that won the super bowl competition against the New England Patriots as he played as a backup starter to Nick Foles.

His Siblings and Family

Nate hails from a family that loves sports a great deal. Although we are not really sure if his parents were active in any sports, we know that his two brothers who are twins; Matthew and Zach are fine sportsmen. Mathew played football as a wide receiver at Brown Bears while his twin brother, Zach played at the University of Nevada. Nate Sudfeld also has two sisters, Juliana and Sarah. Sarah has not been associated with any sport but Juliana actively participated in the game of volleyball for Wheaton college.

Zach took the game of football professionally and was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2013 by the New England Patriots. His twin, Mathew currently serves as a director in the humanitarian organization founded by their grandparents.
