Oscar 2017: Winners And That Steve Harvey-Like Moment

Oscar 2017 delivered a couple of firsts as the world looked on and one especially memorable moment that had actress Emma Stone questioning; “Is that the craziest Oscar moment of all time?”

Among the firsts at the Oscar 2017 was Mahershala Ali’s Best supporting actor win which made him the first Muslim actor ever to win an Oscar. Viola Davis also won in her category, Best supporting actress, and became the first black actor to have won an Emmy, a Tony and an Oscar. At 32 years old, La la land director, Damien Chazelle, made history Sunday night as the youngest person to ever win Best director.

All that laudable record-breaking gave way for the Oscar 2017 big goof that saw Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty presenting “La La Land” as the winner of the best picture award and cueing a celebration that was soon cut short as one of the “La La Land” winners pointed out that “Moonlight” had, in fact, won the award.

Moonlight, a coming-of-age drama about a young, gay black man in a rough Miami neighborhood, was the Oscar 2017 Best picture and despite the mix up that still has a lot of people waiting for an explanation, it has been severally lauded as being deserving of the award.
