How it All Started for the Hollywood Star
Born in Lewiston, Maine, the United States on the 13th of January 1966, Patrick Dempsey who suffered from dyslexia since he was 12 years old, kickstarted his acting career on stage in the early 1980s. When he was just 15 years old, Dempsey who seemed to have been a natural, bagged the role of the rebellious son in a stage production of the play On Golden Pond. The experience proved very useful as he would bank on it to do more exploits on stage.
Two years later, he auditioned for a role in the stage production of Torch Song Trilogy and got it. Playing the role, he had to tour the San Francisco area for some months and won the admiration of the crowd. He later landed a couple of roles in other plays including Brighton Beach Memoirs.
Patrick Dempsey kickstarted his film career in 1985 when he scored the role of Corbet in Heaven Help Us, an American comedy-drama film. The next year, he made his TV series debut portraying Kellin Taylor in The Magical World of Disney. The same year, he starred as Mike Damone in Fast Times, an American sitcom.

Apart from acting, Patrick Dempsey is also a professional race car driver. He became a professional in 2013 but several years before then, he was known to really enjoy auto racing whenever he has spare time.
Since his debut as a professional race car driver, he has contested in many racing competitions. The actor has competed in many racing events over the years including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rolex 24 at Daytona sports car race, and Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 off-road race.
He Owns the Dempsey Racing Team
Patrick Dempsey has grown steadily in the race car driving industry and has even gone ahead to establish his racing team known as Dempsey Racing.
The Dempsey Racing team now races no less than two Porsche 911 GT America’s in the Tudor United SportsCar Series.
The Actor’s First Wife Was 27 Years Older Than Him
The handsome race car driver has been in two marriages. His first marriage was to a woman called Rochelle Parker. Interestingly, Parker was his manager and was older than him by 27 years. At the time they married on August 24, 1987, Dempsey was 21 years old and Parker was 48 years old.
Unfortunately, the marriage did not last as in 1994, the couple headed for a divorce. Sadly, Rochelle Parker passed away in 2014.
He Got Married to Jillink Fink in 1999
After his divorce from Rochelle Parker, Patrick Dempsey went ahead to meet and fall in love with Jillink Fink, a woman who worked as a hairstylist and makeup artist. The lovebirds eventually became husband and wife on July 31, 1999.
The couple is now proud parents to three children: a girl and twin sons. Their daughter called Talula Fyfe was born on February 20, 2002. She was followed by the couple’s twin sons Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen who were born on February 1, 2007.
Patrick and Jillink experienced a hard time in their marriage when Dempsey’s wife filed for divorce in 2015. But then, they settled their differences and remained married.
