Fans of the defunct P-Square duo were really happy when one half of the pair – Paul Okoye and his longtime girlfriend and baby mama Anita Isama, became man and wife. Their traditional wedding ceremony which took place on the 22nd of March 2014 was hosted in Port Harcourt Nigeria. It was a grand affair with a stellar guest list comprising of the crème de la crème of the entertainment industry, both from Nigeria and abroad. Top Nigerian politicians and government officials were also well represented at the event. In fact, it was a wedding to die for, only the decorations would take your breath away. The colors of the day blended in so well and the bride was just the icing on the cake in her beautiful attires which were changed three good times.
Post-wedding, Paul and his beautiful wife Anita are living their dream, though they were already parents to one child before they made things official, the couple has since been blessed with a set of twins who came to complete their world a few years after their wedding. The Okoyes are just the epitome of a happy and fulfilled home with their children whom they never miss the opportunity to flaunt on social media. The proud parents even opened an Instagram account for the twins where they share info about the two cuties with fans and the general public.
How Did Paul Okoye and Anita Isama Meet?
Paul Okoye was already a final year student of the University of Abuja Nigeria in 2004 when Anita Isama was admitted into the school as a freshman. Anita just gained admission into the institution’s law department and from what is obvious, Paul Okoye’s love interest is an early bloomer in academics, being only 16 years at the time. Paul, on the other hand, was already 23 and in his final year as a business administration student. Despite the age gap between them, their love still blossomed with time.
According to the musician, he was supposed to meet up with a certain girl on campus whom he had a crush on but when Paul eventually put a call through to the girl, she wasn’t at home and invited him over to a friend’s place and on getting there, he met Anita for the first time. Paul said he somehow managed to collect Anita’s mobile number and from then onward, everything changed for him.
In an interview, the Nigerian singer let on how he had to travel down to Lagos the following day, and while there, he constantly pestered Anita with calls throughout. Upon his return to Abuja, Paul visited his love interest but wasn’t allowed into the house. They later hit it off and became friends and two years down the line, the friendship developed into love, thus, the duo started dating. Paul said the first Valentine gift he ever gave Anita was a home video starring Genevieve Nnaji as his babe is a big fan of the movie star.
When asked what attracted her to the singer, Anita said she was completely blown away by Paul Okoye’s kindness, humility, and genuine character. She described Paul as being very funny and had no airs and graces to his person; a remarkably humble, compassionate, and reserved guy. On his own part, Paul said he has always been keen on light-skinned girls and besides that, his desire has always been to have an intelligent woman to compliment him. Paul Pulled All the Stops With his Marriage Proposal
The lovebirds didn’t appear to be very keen about tying the matrimonial knot until the arrival of their first child Andre who came to cement their love. Andre was born on the 11th of April 2013 in a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Perhaps, his birth was what prompted Paul to finally pop the big question to his then baby mama.
According to Anita, Paul proposing at that time was a surprise as she wasn’t expecting it. He first took her to a jewelry store where he asked her to make a choice from the ten rings placed before her. Anita said, immediately she made a choice, her boyfriend went down on one knee right there and popped the big question. Anita who wasn’t prepared for it was completely floored and could only cry, describing the whole gesture as being both spontaneous and romantic.
When asked whether he dated other girls before proposing to his wife, Paul answered that Anita is the only woman he has ever loved, calling her his partner and an important part of his life. Anita, on her own part, described Paul as the love of her life, saying she knows him more than he knows himself and the same goes for the singer.
Their Traditional Wedding was a Grand Affair with A-list Celebrities in Attendance

The design company called The Wedding Guru which is credited with doing a wonderful job at Peter Okoye’s (Paul’s twin) engagement the previous year took care of the decorations. The scene was much more than a replication of their job at Peter’s wedding, the decor was enough to take your breath away on walking into the arena. It was like being transported into a dream wedding wonderland for the guests and every bit according to people was as romantic and tasteful as the celebrants. The colors of the day were cream, peach, gold, and silver.
The wedding was attended by A-listers in the entertainment industry, including musicians, actors, comedians, media personalities, and many more. We also saw some top-government officials in attendance. The venue was graced with the presence of Gov. Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, Naeto C, D’Banj, Iyanya, Ikechukwu – Killz, Ini Edo, Ubi Franklin, Susan Peters, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Olisa Adibua, and “Mr Ibu” – John Okafor.
Also in attendance were Majid Michel, Mike Ezuruonye, Chinedu Ikedieze, AY, M.I., Ify Ighodalo, Uti Nwachukwu, Monalisa Chinda, Funke Akindele, Pasuma Wonder, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Ebube Nwagbo, Uche Jombo-R, to mention but a few. Rivers State-born comedian Julius Agwu was on a roll as he kept guests entertained throughout the event. People continued to laugh as they couldn’t resist his rib-cracking jokes.
The Couple’s Outfits
Banke-Meshida Lawal of BM|Pro did a fabulous job with Anita’s makeup. For her first look, the singer’s wife went for pink ombre lips with matching eyeshadow, all complementing her shimmering silver and pink wrapper. Her outfit was complete with a silver taffeta corset blouse, handcrafted by the master designer himself, Frank Osodi. Anita represented her native Oguta culture with a headpiece and chunky beaded necklace. Paul came out in an all-white attire with a touch of silver and traditional beads.
For her second attire, the celebrity wife went all out for the Igbo culture, sporting a gold wrapper, gold-embroidered blouse, red ichafu, red heels, and traditional coral beads speckled with gold. Paul was in isiagu top, black pants, and the traditional Igbo red cap.
Anita’s third outfit which was also her last was not in any way traditional. It was a Frank Osodi designed shimmery royal blue dress finished with a feathered tail. Yinka Fowora of Foradora Fabrics takes the credit for supplying the fabric and also for the asoebi. For her accessories, Paul Okoye’s wife kept it simple, with just her engagement ring and dangling diamond earrings.
They Had a Low-key Court Wedding
After their traditional marriage in Port Harcourt, the couple didn’t legalize their union immediately. They waited until January 2015 to make it legal at the Ikoyi Registry Lagos. The occasion was low-key, attended by the other half of P-Square Peter Okoye and a few close friends. Anita kept it simple in an embroidered lacy peplum top, teamed with a black lace pencil skirt, Valentino rockstud pumps, and a silver purse. Paul Okoye did the same, appearing casual in a suit without a tie.

Unlike the wife of Peter Okoye, Lola Okoye who is very visible, Anita doesn’t appear to particularly care for the hype that is associated with being the wife of a popular musician like Rudeboy, thus, many aspects of her life remain shrouded in mystery to date. However, it is common knowledge that she was born in 1988 and celebrates her birthday every 8th of November.
Apart from the clout that comes with celebrity marriage, Anita has done well for herself, the University of Abuja alum is a law graduate with an MBA. She is an author, a businesswoman, and a philanthropist. Her book, The ABCs of Africa gave rise to one of her projects, The Cashew Apple Project which is focused on discovering Africa’s hidden jewels. Paul Okoye’s wife founded a Nigerian-based children’s apparel firm, tannkco; the company has a global delivery capacity even though based in Nigeria.

Paul and his wife Anita are blessed with three children, their first child Andre later became a brother to a set of twins Nadia and Nathan. As earlier mentioned, they were still dating when Andre was born in Atlanta Georgia on the 11th of April 2013. The little boy was barely one year old when his parents had their traditional wedding in Port Harcourt and he was physically present to witness the occasion.

2017 was a memorable year for the Okoyes as that was when their small family circle expanded with the birth of their twins Nadia and Nathan. The duo announced their entrance on the 9th of July 2017. Just like Andre, the twins were born abroad but soon came home to Nigeria.
Nadia and Nathan were already enjoying fame even before they came into the world. With the help of friends, Anita did a good job of documenting her delivery journey which was later shared with fans on Instagram. When asked how they spend time together, Paul talked about their regular lunch dates on Sundays after church service, spending quality time together when he is not busy in the studio, and embarking on travels during the yuletide season. Sometimes, according to him, Anita would travel with his twin’s family so that he and Peter can find the time to do some serious work. Paul also takes Anita to the club.
In her response, Anita described them as an active couple who love sports activities.
