Good News Fast And Furious Fans! Paul Walker’s Character May Return In Future Films

Fast and Furious fans the world over were devastated by the death of Paul Walker, the actor who embodied Brian O’Conner, during filming in November 2013.

Furious 7 had a poignant closing scene showing Brian’s departure from the film franchise and the track ‘See You Again’ which recently became the second video to hit two billion YouTube views, proving a fitting tribute track to the late Paul Walker.

The actor’s brothers – Caleb and Cody Walker – who both served as stand-ins in order to complete Furious 7’s final scenes, have however, revealed that Brian O’Conner could still return in future installments of the franchise. The two admitted that they had been in talks with one of the franchises’ stars, Vin Diesel, about the idea.

Caleb told Entertainment Tonight: “I had a phone call with Vin for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back. He wanted [our] blessing,”. He continued that Vin Diesel wanted to know when the pair thought it “would be acceptable to maybe bring Paul’s character back… to really kind of let his fans know he’s still out there.”

Paul Walker’s other brother Cody added:

Universal wants to make sure to be respectful of Paul and his image too, and his family.”

All this means that Brian O’Conner probably won’t be making an appearance in Fast 8 but fans can expect future involvement although they will be limited to brief cameos. In that case, both brothers would again be involved as stand-ins.

Fast 8 has already wrapped up production, and the film is set to star Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Scott Eastwood, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren. The Rock and Vin Diesel, arguably the stars of the Fast and Furious franchise, caused a minor media storm earlier when The Rock appeared to call Vin Diesel a ‘candy ass’ on Instagram.
