1. She wasn’t even up to One!
Born on the 28th day of June 2015 in Lake Cowichan, Vancouver, Canada, Presley Smith was yet to clock 1 before she started portraying Sunny Baudelaires on A Series of Unfortunate Events. As at the time filming began for the show’s first season in May 2016, Presley was just eight months old. The infant Canadian actress could not stand or walk, neither could she make intelligible speech sounds.
As Sunny, Smith is the youngest of the Baudelaires’ three orphaned kids, with Malina Weissman (American teen actress), and Louis Hynes (English teen actor) respectively playing her older siblings – sister Violet, and brother Klaus. Presley Smith also starred alongside several well-established actors including Neil Patrick Harris and Patrick Warburton.

Presley Smith’s mother, Paige Lindquist is a budding actress and model. She happened to get the news of A Series of Unfortunate Events casting offers through her publicity agent. 3. Her parents relocated for the series

Owing to the supernaturally tasking nature of Sunny Baudelaires’ role, makers of the TV show initially wanted to make it an artificial character; that is, computer-generated imagery. However, on spotting an intriguingly witty kid like Presley, they changed their minds.

5. Digital Enhancements helped
In addition to her natural abilities, producers added several visual effects to bring forth the best of Sunny Baudelaire in Presley Smith. This became very necessary as the role demanded unnatural actions (at least for a two-year-old) such as chopping off hardwood and rock with the teeth, making fire and preparing meals, as well as several other feats.
In addition, Canadian actress Tara Strong produced the sound effects of Presley’s unintelligible babbling in the series’ first two seasons. Her real voice was, however, portrayed on the show’s third and final season. By then, Smith was around three and can speak intelligibly.
