He was born on January 2, 1994, to his parents. Ronald started from a very young age to exhibit an inclination towards the game of football. He is an alumnus of Potomac High School in Oxon Hill, Maryland, where he was a popular footballer in the school and made impressive records while at the school’s football team. Ronald Darby was also outstanding in the sprint too as he ran at the 2011 World Youth Championships in Athletics and won a bronze medal. He recorded his best performance at 6.77 seconds in 60 meters and also 10.41 seconds in the 100 meters.

Ronald Darby was a High School All-American in the year 2011. In his junior year, he rushed for 1,329 yards and 23 touchdowns at the 2012 Under Armour All-Amercian Game. After a successful high school stint, Darby got several scholarship offers from different universities including Maryland, Clemson, Auburn, and many others.

Ronald Darby was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the second round (50th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. Prior to the draft, he was ranked as the second-best cornerback at the time by various platforms and was predicted to be chosen in the second round. Darby made an impressive record at the NFL Combine where he stood out in the 40, 20, and 10-yard dash. After an awesome performance at the Combine, he had negotiation talks with different teams like Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennesse Titans, and many others.

Darby went ahead to sign a four-year 4.56 million contract with the Bills where he began as a starting cornerback. In the 2015 season-opening game, he recorded six combined tackles and two pass deflections in the 27-14 victory against the Indianapolis Colts. He earned the title of the AFC Defensive Rookie of the Month in September that year and at the end of his rookie season, Darby had recorded 68 combined tackles with 61 solos, 21 passes and two interceptions all in 15 games. He sustained a hamstring injury in the early part of the 2016 season and missed some of his games.

In August 2017, Darby made his next move to the Philadelphia Eagles, after he was traded for Jordan Matthews. He sustained a severe injury after he dislocated his ankle in a game and missed his games for several weeks. But he returned in the 11th week and played in the game against Dallas Cowboys, making his first interception.
