Within one year, Raja landed her first major role in Brad’s Status sharing the screen with Ben Stiller. She portrayed Ananya, an Indian American student of Harvard in the 2017 comedy-drama film. In 2018, Shazi Raja was cast as a recurring character Jaya in the comedy series, God Friended Me which airs on the CBS Network; the series tells the story of a forthright atheist who got a friend request from God on social media. The actress came in a major role in the 2018 movie, India Pale Ale, moving into 2019 with more successful roles on both TV and the movies. A good example is on the set of The Code where she was cast as Nazil Ahmadi in a single episode. Raja joined the cast of The Resident appearing in four episodes as Nadine Suheimat and breathed life into the character of Angela in Hunt – an American slasher film.
