For her outstanding performances in her career, Shelby has won a number of prizes, including the 2014 Telly Awards for her documentary on the Rise of China.

Aside from her professional life which is obviously open to all, there’s a lot more that should interest you about Shelby Holliday. For instance, the clout she has gained over the years from her career has left many wanting to know more about her personal life; especially in terms of her love life. Yes, she is married, but what do you know about her marriage; has it been as successful as her career?

Shelby Holliday’s Childhood Prepared Her for a Journalism Career

Shelby Holliday was born on December 11, 1985, to Nancy and Jeff Holliday. She grew up alongside her brother and sister in Denver, Colorado. Growing up, she was good at athletics, thanks to her dad who was a basketball coach and usually took her to numerous sporting activities such as basketball, golf and soccer.

This made Shelby grow into an adventurous adult who has engaged in bungee jumping with Army troops, climbed wind turbines with energy experts, as well as fly NASA’s zero-gravity plane in the course of her career.

Shelby Holliday became exposed to journalism right from childhood. This is hardly a surprise as she bonded well with her father who studied journalism. She started practicing broadcast journalism while in high school. As a student of Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, Colorado, she wrote for her school’s newspaper and also owned a live journal blog.

On completing high school, she attended the University of San Diego, California where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; this was in 2008.

While studying at the University of San Diego (USD), Shelby was a member of the university’s television network, USDtv as well as the USD’s Alpha Phi sorority, writing the society’s monthly newsletter. In her final year, she interned for four months at NBC where she held the position of a news intern which allowed her to edit and produce video reports for NBC San Diego’s website.

Shelby was also a member of the US student journalists news and press hub, UWIRE. There, she served as both reporter and producer, covering issues on business and politics. She also made contributions to Fox News and Fox Business Network, reporting various strategic events including the 2008 US elections as well as co-hosting Fox News’ “Strategy Room”.

Shelby Worked With Channel One News and Bloomberg Before Joining The Wall Street Journal

After her time with UWIRE as a graduate reporter and producer which lasted from July 2008 to October 2009, Shelby Holliday started working as a reporter and producer for Palestra.net in Columbus, Ohio.

In March 2010, she joined Channel One News in New York City, working there until June 2014. She then joined Bloomberg Television in July 2014, working as a TV reporter and interviewing numerous high profile personalities.

Her duties as a TV reporter at Bloomberg revolved around reporting and produced daily news and market segments. Also, she had interview sessions with government officials, business leaders, and industry experts.

It was in September 2015 that Shelby left Bloomberg for The Wall Street Journal where she currently works as a senior video reporter. At Wall Street, she covers major issues such as US elections, the current Trump administration, as well as government investigations.

Alongside her current job, she also works on the sidelines for CNN, Fox News, Fox Business, MSNBC, and CNBC.

The Journalist Has Been Married to Jonathan Zwart Since 2015

Shelby Holliday’s husband is Jonathan Zwart. The beautiful, 5-feet-9-inches tall journalist dated Jonathan for several years before getting married to him. The pair tied the knot on the 30th of August, 2015. The wedding was a private ceremony with only a few relatives and friends in attendance.

Shelby has a reserved personality, especially when it comes to her personal matters. Unlike her professional life, she rarely shares her private issues with the media. There is therefore very little information about her marriage and family life. However, her relationship with Jonathan has remained a smooth one (as much as we know), with no rumors of conflict or other marital issues.

Because of how much she keeps her personal life private, details of who her husband is and what he does for a living are hard to come by. Nonetheless, there are some reports that claim he attended Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School of the University of North Carolina where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

If that is true, then the LinkedIn profile of an investment banker named Jonathan Zwart could belong to him. Per the profile, Zwart is an Investment Banker who works with Goldman Sachs located in the Greater New York City Area. Since 2007, he has been the managing director of corporate derivatives and debt capital markets of Goldman Sachs’ investment banking division.

The Couple Are Now Proud Parents

Based on what the journalist posts on her social media pages, we can assert that her marriage to Jonathan has been interesting and fun-filled like her career. Holliday is very fond of her husband and they often embark on journeys for pleasure; visiting different places and exotic locations.

In the years that they have lived together as man and wife, they have made it a duty to celebrate their wedding anniversary. A few years after they got married, the couple decided to expand their family. Sometime in April 2019, they welcomed their first child named Zoe.

The journalist has been chronicling her life as a mother in several Instagram post. She has shared that being a mother is amazing and often appreciates her husband for what he brings to the table. In one of the posts, she related that she is grateful for Jonathan and the “unforgettable time” they spent together as a family in the weeks that followed Zoe’s birth.
