Shelby Stanga Biography
Stanga was given birth to on the 1st of January in 1960 in the southern state of Louisiana; the life he lived before he became famous is largely unknown, information about his parents or the type of life he led in his childhood is not available to the public. It is however known that because of the actions of the white supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan in the state where he spent his childhood and attended school, his early education was halted by his mother who feared for his safety.
It was during his breaks from school that he started to explore nearby swamps, the state of Louisiana is known for their swampy terrain and by his mid-teens, Stanga knew the swamps like the back of his hands.
As with the information regarding his immediate family, little is known of his educational pursuits.
From all the time he spent in the swamps as a child to his years as a teenager, Shelby Stanga gained valuable experience on swamp life, while in the swamps he also learned how to be a good logger. The first time he was involved in logging was when he was challenged to take away a tree that had dropped into the water at one of the swamps he frequented, he moved the tree which was a Cyprus with very little supplies and thus began another hobby in logging.
The knowledge he got from all those years in the swamp coupled with a drive to share the knowledge he had of swamps was what pushed the production team of the nature-centric channel, History Channel, in 2008 to employ Stanga and put him on the show Ax Men.
The show was however about loggers; since he already had experience in logging, he had no problems being a part of the show. It chronicled their going into forests to get wood used for building and construction. He was part of the show’s third season, before the production of his show which was spin-off of Ax Men; his show was called The Legend of Shelby the Swamp Man also produced and aired by the History Channel. This was created as a result of the popularity he brought to the Ax Men. Before his time on Ax Men, Stanga had been on another show called Man VS. Wild, in 2003.
The Legend of Shelby the Swamp Man was the show where he earned the name he became to be known by, The Swamp Man; this was a show that focused on the type of life that Shelby lived and was more personal; the show ran for two years with its debut on the 6th of August in 2013 and ended on the 26th of April, 2015. His popularity grew with the spin-off, which was aired in ten episodes and two specials.

Yes, Shelby Stanga is married. It is not known when, where and how he met his wife or when they got married. Her name is Donna and she subscribes to the Jehovah-Witness faith, this is the only information about her that is available to the public; the two of them have no children and live in a cozy house on a large piece of land close to the Louisianan Lake, Lake Pontchartrain.
Shelby Stanga has been on TV for more than a decade and in all the time he has earned some money, his estimated net worth is set at $2 million but it might be higher as the television personality has spoken up about the money being owed him for his time on Ax Men.
