The glam we have here isn’t Sterling Brown, the man who has gained popularity as an actor but Sterling Brown who plays basketball professionally for the Milwaukee Bucks, NBA. He originally started with the game with the Southern Methodist University Team and was also selected by the Philadelphia 76ers as the 46th overall in the NBA Draft in the year 2017.
Early Life and Career Beginnings
The basketballer was born as Sterling Demarco Brown on February 10, 1995, in Maywood, Illinois. He attended Proviso East High School in Maywood and was very active in the school’s basketball team. Sterling played under the tutelage of Donnie Boyce and in 2012 led he the team to a State runner-up finish. With so much leadership attributes tied to his person, the future NBA star led the team to a state semifinal appearance in 2013 but they lost to the Simeon Career Academy.
After High School, Brown got offers from different colleges including the Southern Methodist University, University of Miami, the University of Tennessee, Xavier University and the Southern Methodist University. He later committed to the Southern Methodist University(SMU).
During his Freshman season, Sterling Brown and his teammates missed the NCAA Tournament as they couldn’t play for three years because the team was placed under probation. As a senior, the basketballer totaled 13.4 points in addition to 6.5 rebounds in each game. He also led the team to a 30-5 record in the regular-season and to an American Athletic Conference Championship. Sterling was later named as second-team All-Conference.
As soon as his collegiate career ended, news about his performance went global. He raised his profile by featuring on the NABC College All-Star game and he also attended the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. the baller was considered as a potential second-round prospect for the 2017 NBA Draft. At this point, he was later selected by the Philadephia 76ers with the 46th pick in the second round of the draft that year.

Within the short time Sterling was drafted, he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks. With the Bucks, the SMU prodigy made his debut as a professional basketballer in a fierce match against the Cleveland Cavaliers where he recorded 3 points in six minutes.
Controversy
Despite being a superstar, Sterling Brown has no good records with the Milwaukee Police. He was questioned by the police on January 26, 2018, after his car was straddling two handicapped parking space. Stories have it that the basketballer didn’t cooperate with the police officers who further requested for backup. Upon the arrival of the other police officers, the basketballer had his hands in his pocket. He was later asked to remove his hands from his pockets, however, he obliged. With this, he was arrested on the suspicions of resisting arrest.
After four months of his arrest, the police released a footage detailing the basketballer’s arrest. After many negative reactions to the footage by his fans, the chief police officer, Alfonso Morales publicly announced that those involved with the leakage of the footage have been disciplined.

Details about the basketballers family have been totally off the records. Chris Brown, his father played basketball as a youth, he also served as a police officer in Wisconsin. Sterling Brown’s mom, Sandra Brown has been off the radar, she has also tried as much as possible to stay off the spotlights, however, she is Sterling’s number one fan.
His older brother, Shannon Brown is an American professional basketballer for the Delaware Blue Coats in the NBA G League. He was one of the most effective players in Proviso East High School and also played at Michigan State University. While in school, sometime in 2003, he was named Illinois Mr. Basketball.
Shannon Brown built his family with R&B singer, Monica, with her he had two sons Rodney Ramone Hill III and Romelo Montez Hill. Apart from his children with Monica, he has a son named after him and a daughter, Laiyah Shannon Brown.
Sterling Demarco Brown on his own part has not revealed much about his relationship life. For all we know, he is probably still unmarried and has no kids of his own.
