He was born Steven Allen Spielberg in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the United States of America on December 18, 1946. His parents were a restaurateur and pianist mother, Leah, and an electrical engineer father, Arnold Spielberg. He was forced to drop out of college to begin professionally directing TV productions with Universal Studio but later returned to the California State University, Long Beach, to complete his BA degree in Film and Electronic Arts in 2002.
