Going by previous records, President Assad has used chemical weapons on Syrians before. Most fingers are pointing to the presidency for the recent Idlib chemical attack.

Syrian government has denied being responsible for the attack. Russia in Syria’s defense says no chemical bombs were dropped. Instead, Syrian bombs hit insurgent’s weapon depot and then the poisonous gas leaked.

Chemical engineers according to a CNN report refute Russian claims that an airstrike hit the munition depot of the rebels. Their analysis reveal that the properties of the chemicals found were nerve agents, similar to the one Assad used in the past.

Amnesty International has also called the attack an “air-launched chemical attack.”

Idlib Chemical Attack

In an emergency UN security council meeting, the US representative at the security council, Nikky Haley during the emergency meeting did not forget to mention and condemn the role Russia is playing in the Syrian war which has lingered on for 6 years.

“Time and time again, Russia uses the same false narrative to deflect attention from their allies in Damascus,”

“How many more children have to die before Russia cares?”

Idlib chemical attack is considered one of the deadliest of its kind since the Syrian war.

Trump says he now has a different view of Assad than he did before.

“It crossed a lot of lines for me. When you kill innocent children, innocent babies … with a chemical gas that is so lethal that people were shocked to hear what gas it was, that crosses many, many lines – beyond a red line.”

“These heinous actions by the Assad regime cannot be tolerated.”

Syria denied using chemical weapons on the people. However most world leaders except Russia are not buying it.

The further the war goes, the more pathetic it is for the innocent people and traumatized children of Syria.

Nikky Haley urged the UN to take practical actions in the case rather than settling for the usual empty words. The UN Security Council was adjourned as the council did not vote on a resolution.
