Tom Brady is also known as the King of Patriots but his success story was not there for all to see from the beginning. His recruitment was not that of a player tipped to become a star but looked more of the recruitment of a player to complete the number. It was on the last day of the 2000 NFL Draft that the New England Patriots decided to spend their leftover cash on a cheap 22-year-old Tom Brady, a move which would turn out to be the greatest draft steal in NFL history.
The quarterback was drafted in the sixth round as the 199th NFL Draft pick overall and was described as a poorly built, skinny young man, who lacked great physical stature, strength, mobility, and ability to withstand the rush of play. No one expected a 199th pick to have any chances of having a successful career in the NFL. However, if you fast forward to two decades later, Tom Brady has gone on to defy all odds to become one of NFL’s living legends and arguably, the best quarterback in NFL history.

He was selected in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft by New England Patriots as the 199th overall pick largely due to his physical size. During Brady’s second season at the New England Patriots, Drew Bledsoe the Patriots starting quarterback got injured, giving Brady the opportunity to be the starting quarterback.
