An American musician, Tyler is a professional songwriter and singer, rapper, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. In 2009, Tyler Joseph teamed up with bass player, Nick Thomas, and drummer Chris Salih to form Twenty One Pilots, a musical band based in Columbus, Ohio. December of the same year saw them release their debut and eponymous album.
In 2011, Nick and Chris left the band, with Tyler taking up a new partner, Josh Dun (a drummer). The same year, the duo came up with Regional at Best, still as Twenty One Pilots. In 2012, they signed to the Fueled by Ramen label, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. The duo subsequently released other albums including Vessel (2013), Blurryface (2015), and Trench (2018).

Tyler Joseph is one of the four children (three sons and a daughter) of Kelly (Stryker) Joseph and her husband, Christopher Anthony Joseph (a former school principal and basketball coach). Tyler’s mom, Kelly Joseph taught mathematics at the Olentangy School District. She later on also became the high school basketball coach. That was in 2013.
