Burrous who passed away on 27th December 2018 at the age of 43 was at first found unconscious at Glendale Motel known as Days Inn. In October 2018, he shared a post about his 15th wedding anniversary with Mia and also uploaded pictures of his daughter on many occasions. Through his social media post, it was evident that the talented reporter was in a loving marital relationship with the love of his life and was also a proud father who referenced his daughter as his second valentine.
Following Chris Burrous’ death, go-fund-me accounts were set up for his spouse and child. One of the funds was set up by Gigi Giraciette, a TV personality, and Rosemary Do Silverstein, Burrous sister-in-law. Through their efforts, the funds raised about $115,000 with The Big Bang Theory star, Kunal Nayyar donating $5,000. The fund was raised to help Mia take care of her daughter for the time being and equally carter for the funeral that took place on 11th January 2009 which would have been his 44th birthday.
His funeral service was held inside SkyRose Chapel located in Rose Hills Memorial Park and Mortuaries in Whitten, Los Angeles. During the emotional memorial service, Chris Burrous’ daughter cited that her father’s memory will always remain with her. For his fans, Burrous will always be remembered as the warm, funny and talented journalist who handed Liberte Chan; a meteorologist of KTLA 5, a sweater to cover up her short dress during a live weather broadcast; the funny incident was later named ‘Sweatergate’.
