Andre Ayew is a Ghanaian professional footballer who just got signed by West Ham United for a whooping sum of £20.5 million ($26.6 million).
Prior to the signing, the Ghanaian star was Swansea City striker. Report says that West Ham has completed the signing of the 26-year old. The contract is to last for 3 years with an option for an additional 2 years.
Andre Ayew signed for Swansea on a free transfer from Marseille. While with them he scored 12 goals in his first Premier League season.
Andre played for Marsielle from 2006 till his contract expired in 2015. He equally scored 52 goals in 181 appearances of playing for the French club.
The BBC African footballer of the year for 2011 has attained 62 caps for his home country, Ghana.
David Gold, West Ham joint chairman has confirmed the signing of the African forward on Twitter as he welcomed him to the club.

Andre’s signing is one of the expensive West Ham signing since the £15 million transfer fee of Andy Carroll in June 2013. According to BBC he will be the 5th footballer to be signed to the club this summer as they buckle up for their first season in London.
Other stars like Valencia’s Sofiane Feghouli, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Havard Nordtveit and Manchester United’s Ashley Fletcher all signed to the club on a free transfer.
