ProZD is a Korean American voice actor, YouTuber, and internet phenomenon who rose to prominence by lending the voices of Zeus and Express Owls in the video games, Apotheon and A Hat in Time respectively. He does a voice-over for video games, 2D and 3D animated videos, TV shows, internet applications and likewise post many of his Vine jokes which comprised of short tags and unboxings videos and animes on social media. In his relatively short career so far, he has already worked on quite a number of popular video games, TV series and animations including Pale Spectrum: Part Two of the Book of Grey Magic, Anime Crimes Division, Nomad of Nowhere, and OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes.

Besides his great exploits as a voice actor and YouTuber, ProZD whose real name is SungWon Cho is also a screenwriter who has written an episode of 2018 musical comedy TV series, Sanders Shorts and composed the 1998 video game, CyberMercs.

What is ProZD’s Age?

The young internet phenomenon was born as SungWon Cho in 1990 in Minnesota, United States. He celebrates his birthday on every 9th December. The identities of his parents and siblings (if any) are unknown as he has not disclosed any information regarding them to the media except that his mother always set up a group of five dolls in their home which depicts each member of her family, meaning that he is from a family of five. After his birth, his family relocated to Lansing, Michigan.

How Old was ProZD When He Graduated From College?

ProZD who graduated from college at the age of 22 disclosed in an interview that he developed an ardor for voice acting while in high school after lending the voices of many characters including geeky middle schoolers and officers in radio plays written by his buddy, David Michael Kinne, and then followed it up in college. Even while pursuing a degree in Telecommunications where he majored in media arts and technology, ProZD still made out time to regularly feature as an actor in live productions. He whetted his improv, acting and writing skills in college where he spent 900 hours while playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf.

Although ProZD began his career as a voice actor while in college, he was slightly confused about which career path to take after his graduation. Having been convinced of his voice acting prowess which he has proven on several occasions by mimicking anime characters, he eventually, ventured fully into voice acting by creating skits, memes, and animes, as well as videos of tags and unboxings which he uploaded on his social media pages especially Tumblr, Twitter, and Vine.

After becoming quite popular on Vine where he amassed over 140,000 followers, he gradually began to upload his Vine videos on his YouTube channel (ProZD), and surprisingly gained prominence on YouTube before Vine was shut down in 2017. As of August 2019, ProZD has over 2 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

At What Age Did He Start His Gameplay Voice-Over Works?

Following his popularity on several social media platforms, many voice-over jobs began to come for ProZD who had his first video game voice work at the age of 21 when he provided the voice of Shin Mitsurugi in the 2011 video game, Ace Attorney Investigations 2. His breakthrough role, however, came in 2015 when he voiced the character of Zeus in the indie video game, Apotheon by Alientrap Games. ProZD followed it up by making his first small screen debut when he was cast to voice the character of Gabriel/Kai in the 2015 animated TV series, Minecraft Diaries. Interestingly, his popularity soared when he starred opposite Riley Rose Critchlow in the 2017 action-comedy TV series, Anime Crimes Division as Detective Joe Furuya.

His striking character depiction in the aforementioned series earned him The Streamy Awards nomination in Best Acting in a Comedy category. His most recent gig is lending the voice of Lenny/Fredric in the 2019 video game, Norse Noir: Loki’s Exile, Chapter 1. So far, ProZD has featured in over thirty video games, animations, and TV series which includes Fallen Legion: Rise to Glory, Judges Eyes: Shinigami no Yuigon, Dungeon Dynamite, So This is Basically, A Hat in Time, The Investigations of Sharklock Foams, to mention but few.

ProZD got acquainted with his now-wife, Anne Marie Salter on a Super Mario fan fiction site in the late 2000s. Anne is a self-employed Los Angeles based illustrator and designer who loves to create vibrant worlds and characters by using color and design to tell a story. She specializes in visual concept art and character design. The lovebirds got engaged in October 2015 and sealed their love with a nuptial bond on 28th May 2016. They are yet to welcome any child.
