The award-winning media personality, Herschel “Guy” Beahm, popularly known as Dr Disrespect is a well-known YouTube streamer with more than two million subscribers. Prior to switching over to YouTube, Beahm previously broadcasted his streams on Twitch where he had amassed over four million followers. In addition to that, the total number of views summed up at 182 million-plus views.
The award-winning streamer had to make the switch to YouTube following his permanent ban from Twitch. Famous for his mustache, Beahm has carved a niche for himself as a force to reckon with in the gaming industry.
He Began His Professional Journey with Sledgehammer Games
Dr Disrespect is an alumnus of the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. What’s more, reports have it that he played college basketball at the NCAA Division II. However, his interests later diverted to gaming and the star streamer is known to have uploaded his debut video on January 11, 2010. The video featured the popular game, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and shortly after, he caught the attention of Machinima, Inc. who began to feature him in multiple Call of Duty videos.
On March 16, 2011, Sledgehammer Games appointed the American streamer as its community manager. Following his appointment, Dr Disrespect went inactive and did not release any gaming content for a couple of years. However, he rose through ranks at Sledgehammer Games to become a level designer and aided in the creation of the multiplayer maps like Instinct, Ascend, and Horizon for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
Dr Disrespect went on to stay with Sledgehammer Games for the years leading to 2015 but in the bid to advance his streaming career, he left the company. He had also made the move to sign up on Justin.tv, now known as Twitch before his departure. On his new platform, Dr Disrespect gradually gained recognition by playing games like H1Z1 before venturing into playing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Not long after, the popular streamer switched to playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
A few years later, he was publicly recognized for his great contributions to the gaming industry as he received the Streamer of the Year Award at the 2017 E-sports Industry Awards. Dr Disrespect was also given the award for ‘The Trending Gamer’ at the Game Awards, that same year.
Dr Disrespect’s Ban From Twitch Launched His YouTube Career
After enjoying widespread fame on Twitch the gamer faced a major set back on the platform in 2019. Beahm’s channel was banned on June 11, 2019, following allegations that he was IRL streaming at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) held in L.A, California. The streamer and his cameraman were alleged to have filmed in a restroom at the event venue. According to the streaming service, Dr Disrespect’s video coverage was in violation of its privacy rules and laws.
In addition to the suspension, organizers of the Electronic Entertainment Expo revoked his pass, ultimately banning him from the event. A couple of days later though, Twitch lifted the suspension on June 25, 2019, two weeks after it was initiated.
A year after his suspension was reversed, Twitch once again banned the streamer’s account on the platform. The official announcement which came on June 26, 2020, indicated that the internet personality had been in violation of the site’s community guidelines. However, Dr Disrespect iterated in an interview with Washington Post that Twitch had not given him a reason for the ban. Dr Disrespect also claimed that his contract with the company was still valid.
On August 6, 2020, in a surprising turn of events, Beahm tweeted a YouTube channel link. He officially began streaming on August 7 and so far, he has recorded tremendous success. Dr Disrespect’s YouTube channel currently has over 2.9 million subscribers, almost as much as he had on Twitch. At the moment, there still has not been an official reason as to why he was banned permanently from Twitch. The issue has left many of his fans speculating about what transpired.
The YouTube Streamer Is Worth A Fortune
The two-time recipient of the Esports Industry Awards has had a successful career so far. Ever since he started his career, the streamer has been on an upward slope amassing a huge followership and earning critical acclaim. In addition to that, Dr Disrespect has accumulated a considerable amount of wealth as a video game streamer.
As of 2020, the streamer is estimated to have a net worth of $3.5 million. He is also ranked as one of the wealthiest gamers in the world. More so, it is known that his endorsement deals have also contributed to his wealth. The California based talent and sports agency, Creative Artists Agency, signed Dr Disrespect on the 10th of January, 2019 as one of its clients. The former Twitch streamer also has endorsement deals with popular brands like ASUS, G Fuel, Razer, and Gillette.
Dr Disrespect Is Married To A Mystery Lady
The wife of the widely acclaimed streamer goes by the alias “Mrs. Assassin” on Instagram. Additionally, the celebrity missus is known on-stream as “Nurse Disrespect”. The gaming duo got married in 2013 in a private ceremony attended by close friends and family members.
The couple welcomed their daughter, Alana, sometime in 2014. Dr Disrespect included his daughter in one of his live streams where he dubbed her “Baby Disrespect”. Not much is known about the famous “Mrs. Assassin” as she has continued to keep her identity a secret. Dr. Disrespect, responding to allegations of being a racist, claimed his wife was from the Island of Malamawi in the Philippines is the only time her place of origin has been mentioned.
In spite of the fact that her background details remain largely unknown, Dr Disrespect’s wife is occasionally seen accompanying him to events. Notwithstanding, the pair have managed to keep intrinsic details about their marriage away from the spotlight.
The Streamer Openly Admitted To Cheating On His Wife
It was a surprise to fans when the couple’s discreet union became a topic for discussion on social media. In a surprising turn of events, Dr Disrespect offered a public apology to his fans, sponsors, and to Twitch, acknowledging that he had been unfaithful to his wife.

Dr Disrespect announced that he would be taking a hiatus off streaming to spend more time with his wife. As expected, his confession quickly spread all over social media and his absence from streaming lasted for about two months. Thankfully, his absence paid off as his wife joined him in his follow-up stream which indicated that they were in a better place after the cheating incident. The family of three currently live at their home in Encinitas, California.
