Kim Nam-Joon is a prolific songwriter who has carved out a niche for himself in the music industry as a successful rap artist. He goes by the stage name RM; Rap Monster, but he recently changed his moniker to Real Me. As a songwriter and with his high level of IQ, Nam-Joon had a belief that he would have a successful career in literature but all these desires suddenly became a mirage immediately he listened to Epik High’s hip hop music titled; Fly, while still in high school. Who Is Rap Monster (Kim Nam-Joon)?
The dexterous hip-hop rapper was born in the beautiful city of Ilsan-gu, Goyang, South Korea on 12th September 1994. Although the names of his parents are yet to be made public, it is known that his father works with SK Telekom while his mother is an Estate Agent. Nam-Joon has two siblings; an elder brother, Kim Seok Jung and a younger sister, Kim Geong Min.
He is an alumnus of Ilsan Daejin High School, which he later followed up by graduating from Global Cyber University where he studied Broadcasting and Performing Art.
Kim Nam-Joon put his career to a start by joining a local hip-hop group in 2007 while still in high school. He then moved on to produce his first self-composed recording using Adobe audition.

In 2008, Kim Nam-Joon participated in his first concert and became more active in the underground Korea hip-hop scene with a stage name, Runch Rander. This resulted in him signing with Big Hit Entertainment at the age of 16 and he eventually became the leader of their hip-hop group, Bangtan Sonyeondan, popularly known as BTS. He went on to release his pre-debut tracks which were followed by the release of his first song with the musical group, BTS in 2013. A year later, he released his first album titled Dark and Wild, and also launched two mixtapes.

The adept rapper has also depicted his intelligence in a South Korean television program titled, Hot Brain – Problematic Men, which began airing on 26th Feb 2015. In 2015, Nam-Joon released a single with Warren G titled, Please Don’t Die. He followed it up with another great collaboration with a Korean hip-hop group known as My Fans Are Better Than Yours with the acronym MFBTY, alongside EE and Dino J in a song titled, Bucku Bucku. Nam-Joon additionally featured along with Kwon Jin-ah on the song, ‘’U’’ from the album titled, Primary and also collaborated with Marvel for the soundtrack of the film, Fantastic Four in Korea. In 2017, the brilliant rapper moved on to collaborate with the American rapper, Wale in a great song titled, Change.
