Zoe Buckman is a British photographer, multi-disciplinary artist, and producer. Her works have covered sculpture, installation, embroidery; and has explored themes such as equality, feminism and even mortality. She is best known for Heavy Rag, Let Her Rave, Imprison Her Soft Hand, Every Curve. All of which have been displayed in solo exhibitions including Albertz Benda, New York, Gavlak Gallery Los Angeles, Project for Empty Space and PAPILLION ART.

Zoe Buckman’s Age and Early Life
Zoë Buckman was born in Hackney, East London, United Kingdom, on September 13, 1985, to what some would rightly call a prominent British family. Her father, Jennie Buckman, is a famous TV writer and playwright and was formerly head of acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts from 1986 to 2007. Her Jewish mother, Nick Blatchley, works as a government health official. She is a niece to Peter Buckman, an English writer, and literary agent, while her paternal grandmother was the sister of the wife of Sir Alec Guinness.
By ancestry, Buckman has a mixed racial identity of English and Jewish. Not much is known about her childhood, early education, siblings or her college degree. However, it’s safe to assume she acquired a degree in creative arts as that happens to be her major area of expertise.

According to art critics, Every Curve illustrates the opposing perceptions of woman as a sexual object, woman as love, and woman as creator; perceptions which, with recourse to history, have largely remained unchanged.
So far, Zoe Buckman’s career has seen her collaborate with other notable artists and serve on several associations as member or leader. She is a member of For Freedoms. The first artist-run Super Political Action Committee created by artists Eric Gottesman and Hank Willis Thomas. Buckman has worked on several projects with For Freedoms, including an exhibition at in Harrisburg, PA; a billboard – “Grab Em By the Ballots” and another in Chicago, Illinois; a bus bench with Monique Meloche Gallery.
In the spring of 2017, Buckman and Natalie Frank collaborated on Buckman’s first public project, We Hold These Truths To Be Self-Evident, a mural at New York Live Arts that year. It was in response to the election of Donald Trump and employs misogynistic texts gathered from statements made by former and current male politicians about women and their bodies. In 2015, Buckman was an Artist in Residence at Mana Contemporary.
