With a milestone achievement of attaining a current 1.65 billion users on his social media platforms, Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg shares his joy. In the spirit of true entrepreneurship Zuckerberg has spotted more societal gaps to fill.
“While helping to connect the world will always be the most important thing I do, there are more global challenges that I feel a responsibility to help solve — like helping to cure all diseases by the end of this century”
In what could be described as a social responsibility, the Facebook founder has decided that he wants to help in the eradication of diseases in the world by the end of the century. The tech-billionaire made this known in his official note on Facebook 2 days ago.
“Right now, there are amazing scientists, educators and doctors around the world doing incredible work. We want to help them make a bigger difference today, not 30 or 40 years down the road. “
Mark Zuckerberg has stunned the world by the level of his achievements in 12 years of owning the social media. A recent record shows that there are about “1 billion monthly users on Whatsapp, 900 million on their Messenger app, and 400 million on Instagram.”
Zuckerberg who will be keeping founder control of Facebook for much longer shared his intent to do more good for humanity. He said the board has plans to “create a new class of stock” that will enable him and his spouse to do more philanthropic activities. Zuckerberg mentioned the need to upgrade the education system and adequate attention to climate change.
Last week the Zuckerberg couple registered a Limited Liability Corporation- Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. They made it public knowledge that they will be giving away 99% of their fortune to charity on annual bases.
Going further on with their generosity, the couple announced recently that they would also be giving up 99% of Facebook shares. This token sums up to a whooping sum of about $45 billion… So much for charity.
