Is UENR a Government University?

Yes, UENR is not a privately owned institution but run by the Ghanaian government. UENR is a public-funded college established in December 2011 by an Act of Parliament, Act 830, 2011, to provide leadership and management of energy and natural resources, as well as be a center of excellence in everything academic. Applying For Admission At The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) – A Step By Step Guideline

The process of applying for admission into UENR is basically done online and below is the step-by-step guideline on how to go about it for both Ghanaian and international students.

Ghanaian Applicants

Step 1: Purchase Application Voucher. The e-voucher costs Two Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GHS250)

Step 2: Get Essential Documents Ready: To begin the registration process and access the portal, prospective applicants are to have the following handy;

  •  An active email address
  • Mobile phone number
  • Scanned copies of certified certificates (transcripts for Diploma and
    HND holders)
  • A digital passport photograph

Step 3: Proceed To Admission Portal: With all necessary documents made available, all applicants are expected to complete the online admission application using the institution’s official admission portal @ www.uenr.edu.gh.

  •  Enter your Application Number and PIN
  • Select the admission type (e.g.Undergraduate-WASSCE/SSSCE, Post-graduate, Undergraduate-HND and Diploma and so on)
  • Proceed by changing the default PIN on the Voucher to your own personal
    PIN (your PIN must be a minimum of 8 characters)
  • After that, go to the personal data page and complete the application. After filling the online application form properly and you are certain that there are no mistakes, click submit. You will receive an SMS notification after submitting the online application.
  • That being done, applicants are now expected to get an EMS envelope from Ghana Post and send the completed application form together with photocopies of certificates, result slip, and birth certificates (Not Returnable) via post to this address:

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) Fee Structure For All Students

Applicants should note that UENR tuition fees are quite affordable but are different, based on the course of study, year of study, and nationality. To study for an undergraduate program at the university, a student will spend a minimum of 1,466.99 Cedis and a maximum of 5,465.14 Cedis per session; this is dependent on the course of study and year of study and inclusive of Tuition/ Supervision Fees, Student Union level and other charges.

To run a graduate program in UENR, an applicant will spend a minimum of $1,270.20 and a maximum of $8,969.33 per session. This is inclusive of Tuition/ Supervision Fees, Student Union level, and other charges.

For every detail on the UENR fee structure, applicants are to visit the university’s official website @ www.uenr.edu.gh, click on the ‘Students’ and scroll down to the fee section and click on the fee type (graduate fees, undergraduate fees, etc) then you can have access to all details concerning the fees.

NB: It is also to be noted that these fees may change from time, thus, applicants are advised to visit the university website for updates in case of any changes in the fees structure.

Fee Payment Instructions

Undergraduates

1. Applicants are to make payments at any branch of the following banks nationwide:

2. They are to make payments using their index number and are advised to insist on an official receipt from the teller.

3. Freshmen should make payment using the reference number on their admission letter.

4. No direct deposit should be made into any bank account. Seek help from the bank officials if confused.

Graduate Students 

1. Applicants are to pay their UENR Fees at any branch of the following banks nationwide:
