In 1997, Nozewu went to Thuthuka Casting in Johanessburg to study an audio-visual communication course. He also completed his radio presenting studies in 1997 and the next year, rounded up his studies in radio production at the Classic FM Radio Institute. DJ Pastor then volunteered at C.K.I. FM’s youth station where he served for a year then ended up with a 5-year contract with the station. The station has evolved over the years to be known as Tru FM, Radio C.K.I. but it currently goes by the name SABC.
As his voice began to gain popularity on air, DJ Pastor gained a lot of fans and in 2005, he was dubbed the ‘Best On-Air Personality’ by C.K.I. FM’s listeners.
