Ronnie Turner – Bio
Born in October 1960, Ronald Renelle Turner from California is Tina and Ike Turner’s only child. Ronnie had a very comfortable upbringing and is no stranger to the limelight as his both parents were music stars. His dad Ike was a controversial rock-and-roll pioneer and founder of the Kings of Rhythm band, while his mom Tina is considered ‘The Queen of Rock and Roll’. There is a dearth of information about Ronnie’s educational endeavours. Though not as famous as his parents, the celebrity kid apparently inherited their entertainment genes.
Ronnie Turner’s musical inclinations were evident from an early age. With the help of his parents, he began singing and playing different instruments as a child. Notably, Ronnie’s dad taught him how to play the bass guitar and he played for both Ike and Tina’s bands. Given his family background, many initially considered Ronnie to be the next big star to watch out for back in the ’70s and ’80s, but the talented kid had other interests in the entertainment industry. He unsuccessfully chose to pursue an acting career. Despite his family’s high profile connections, Ronnie Turner struggled to carve a niche for himself in Hollywood. Besides his popular role in What’s Love Got To Do With It, the 1993 movie that was based on his famous mother’s life and her struggles in an abusive marriage, not much is known about Ronnie’s acting career.
He is believed to have played other small roles, but there is a scarcity of information about his Hollywood endeavors thereafter. As a musician, Ronnie Turner was once a bass guitarist in a popular band ‘The Prophets’ which is now known as ‘Black Angel’. More recently, Turner has presumably ditched the entertainment industry for real estate. He mostly earns a living as a Los Angeles based realtor.
As earlier mentioned, Ronnie is the only child from Ike and Tina Turner’s union. The former celebrity couple who officially tied the knot two years after their son was born had a tumultuous marriage while it lasted. After 16-year long years together as man and wife, Ronnie’s parents eventually ended their marriage in 1978. Thereafter, they both moved on and remarried. Ronnie’s mom Tina Turner is currently married to Erwin Bach, a German-born record executive. Though Ronnie is the only child from his parents’ union, he has half-siblings including Craig Raymond Turner, Ike Turner Jr., Michael Turner, Mia Turner, Linda Trippeter, and Twanna Turner Melby.
Ronnie Turner is married to a French singer, songwriter, and reality TV star Afida Turner. There’s little or no information available about the couple’s romance from the outset but they are believed to have dated for a while before tying the knot in 2007. Ronnie and Afida have experienced their own share of marital troubles. One of such instances was when Afida claimed her husband’s health was deteriorating and was unable to walk as a result of dementia and further accused her mother-in-law, Tina of abandoning her ailing son. Again in June 2017, Ronnie and Afida announced that they had parted ways, although they have since reconciled and are now living together happily in their Los Angeles home.
