Born as Karim Kharbouch on November 9, 1984, in Rabat, Morroco; he had his childhood at their family estate somewhere outside the walls of Casablanca but moved to South Bronx in the United States when he was thirteen with his family. French Montana is an American by naturalization (a status he acquired in June 2018) and is also a Moroccan.
He had challenges speaking English after they moved but was fluent in Arabic and French, however, he picked up on English whilst at the Bronx High School of Lehman and Roosevelt.
