With regards to his personal life, Kelly is not doing shabbily at all. He is the proud father of a pre-teen daughter and has been romantically linked with several Hollywood beauties. Kelly’s first relationship on record goes back to his teenage years when he dated a girl named Emma Cannon. She got pregnant during their relationship and they welcomed a daughter named Casie Colson Baker on the 23rd of July 2008. Kelly was just 18 at the time and given all the pressures that come with caring for a little child, he and his baby mama eventually broke up. However, they remain friendly to date.

The rapper never forgets to send Emma a shout out on mother’s day and in 2012, he penned a song titled Her Song. The lyrics made it obvious that it was his music ambitions that cost their relationship and that he tried to win her back without success.

As for the little girl he got out of the romance, the rapper does all he can to be a good father to her. He often posts pictures of them doing cool stuff together on social media. She has also accompanied him to a few red carpet events.

Machine Gun Kelly Has Dropped Eight Mixtapes So Far

As a newbie in the music business, Machine Gun Kelly dropped his first mixtape, Stamp of Approval, in 2006. He was still in high school at that time and this helped him to build up a bit of reputation in his hometown – Cleveland, Ohio. He, therefore, started scoring invites to perform at local gigs and soon dropped his second mixtape, 100 Years and Running.

By 2010, Machine Gun Kelly released his third mixtape titled Lace Up: The Mixtape. The project featured an ode to the city of Cleveland and this helped it to become quite successful. The song was played non-stop by local stations. It was also adopted by the NBA team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, as one of their signature songs.

To date, Machine Gun Kelly has released a total of eight mixtapes with the most significant ones being 2013’s Black Flag as well as 2015’s Fuck It. Mind of a Stoner, which featured Wiz Khalifa, performed particularly well on the charts and went on to win two awards. On the other hand, Fuck It was released in 2015 and was a compilation of about 10 songs that failed to make it to the rapper’s second album. They include Almost, On Everything, Blue Skies, Conversations, and Rockstar, among others.

The Rapper’s 5th Studio Album, Ticket to my Downfall, Topped the Billboard 200 Albums Charts In 2020

In October 2012, Machine Gun Kelly dropped his first album, Lace Up. The album had three singles released including the lead single titled Wild Boy. Lace Up also included collaborations with some of the biggest names in the industry including the likes of Cassie and DMX. This led to a positive reaction from music lovers and the album went up to No. 4 on the Billboard 200 Albums Charts. It also topped the Billboard R&B/Hip-hop Albums Charts and sold about 500k copies.

Kelly’s second album, General Admission, would come three years later in 2015. It featured about four singles including Till I Die and A Little More. Just like its predecessor, General Admission topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and also reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Commercially, it also sold about 500k copies hence a gold certification from the RIAA.

For his third studio album, Bloom and Binge (2017), Kelly went all out and recruited the assistance of current industry heavyweights such as Camilla Cabello, Quavo, Ty Dolla Sign, and Hailee Steinfeld. His gamble paid off as it resulted in several hit songs including Bad Things which reached the No. 4 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. The album itself made it to No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and sold half a million copies.

Kelly’s fourth and fifth studio albums, Hotel Diablo and Tickets to My Downfall, followed in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Both albums have seen him embark on an experimental move away from traditional rap for a rap-rock and pop-punk sound. The experiment seems to be paying off. Hotel Diablo spurned hit singles such as Hollywood Whore and reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 charts. Tickets to My Downfall did even better. It topped the Billboard 200 charts marking the first time that MGK would achieve such a feat.
