Ricegum is an online gamer and YouTube sensation who ditched college; took advantage of the digital era, and made a name for himself on the internet. Though he began as a gaming YouTuber, Ricegum soon gained recognition as a controversial internet star following his many diss tracks. Here is everything you need to know about the youngster who shattered his mother’s dreams of becoming a doctor for a comedy career.
Real Name, Age, and Ethnicity
Ricegum was born Bryan Le on 19th November 1996 to Vietnamese parents, Luat Quang Le and Quang Ly Lely. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Bryan attended Sierra Vista High School in Spring Valley. RiceGum reportedly attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, but dropped out in 2016 to focus on his other interests.
Though a social media personality, the Asian-American Youtuber prefers to separate his private life from his career, thereby disclosing little or no information regarding his family to the public probably to protect them from internet trolls and abuse. Nonetheless, going by some of his videos, Bryan is presumably from an average and family-oriented household. While his parents initially hoped that he would pick a career in the medical field, the young lad had other interests which eventually blossomed into an internet career.
Career Beginning and Rise to Fame
A video game aficionado, Ricegum made his social media debut on YouTube and Twitter in October 2012 while he was still a teenager. He began by posting gaming videos of popular games such as Call of Duty on his YouTube channel RiceGum. He soon became popular among teenagers and game aficionados alike and over time attracted millions of subscribers on his channel. More so, Ricegum is known to have collaborated with YouTube gaming and video entertainment network Machinima as well as Twitch streamer Mia Khalifa.
The controversial YouTuber is known to humorously troll and roast celebrities on his channel. In 2015, he became the subject of a controversy that ironically increased his popularity. His roast video These Kids Must Be Stopped series wherein he berated popular young web stars Loren Beech, Jacob Sartorius, and Hunter Rowland went viral and eventually became one of his most famous videos on social media so far.
In the video, Ricegum chastised the young stars for uploading videos which were in his opinion sexually inappropriate for their age. As expected, there were mixed reactions to his videos and comments on the issue but for Ricegum, it was a fine development for his career as it only helped increase his fame. He continues to enjoy popularity through his channel which he uses mostly for comedy.
How Much is He Worth
Ricegum has earned a modest financial portfolio for himself since he dropped out of school to fully focus on his internet career. Though Bryan has not publicly confirmed how much he makes from social media, his monthly income is estimated to be about $115,000. He is believed to have an estimated net worth of about $1 million, a figure that is expected to increase in the near future.
His sister was once a victim of social media trolling
Apparently, Ricegum’s Asian parents have other children beside him. Though there is little information regarding his parents and family available to the public, we do know that the Youtuber has two younger siblings – a sister and a brother.
Ricegum’s sister was once a victim of social media trolling after he posted a video about her but was shocked at the type of negative reviews and comments the post received. For now, Ricegum and his family reside in Nevada although he is making plans to move to a place of his own.
Is He in any Relationship?
Ricegum is a guy who believes himself to be too ugly to attract his desired spec with the opposite sex. The internet star claims not to have any girlfriend and so far, no girl has been romantically linked to him. Given his claims, Ricegum’s sexuality has raised eyebrows but he has also cleared the air on the speculation by categorically stressing that he is straight.
Earlier in his career, the YouTuber once stated that he never wanted to have a daughter but sometime in 2017, he surprised his fans when he posted videos of a cute little girl he claimed to be his daughter. However, it remains uncertain if the girl is really his daughter as Ricegum has not been publicly linked to any lady/baby mama nor has he clarified the speculations around his supposed daughter.
1. The YouTuber stands at a height of 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 60 kg.
