Stroke Of Fate: These Best Friends Had No Idea They Were Switched At Birth

Leon Swanson and David Tait Jr. have been best friends for 41 whole years. Both men through a DNA testing have discovered that they were switched at birth at a government run Manitoba hospital, Canada.

The 2 buddies have been inseparable friends for ages. Perhaps fate’s way of keeping them close to their real families without even knowing it.

Report says that overtime, Leon Swanson and David Tait Jr. were teased for looking like each other’s families. Little did they know that sometime in the future, they would swap families like it should have been.

As much as it is great news that they finally got re-united with their families, both men will have to battle with a sort of psychological adjustment. Perhaps the consoling part will be the fact that they have all lived close to each other.

So what’s the story? How and why did they get switched at birth?

Leon Swanson and David Tait Jr.’s switch according to Canadian reports is not the first to happen at Norway House hospital, Canada.

9 months ago 2 men-Luke Monias and Norman Barkman- who lived in a nearby town had reasons to go for a DNA test with their families. The result proved that they were switched at birth in the same hospital in 1975, 5 months after the births of Leon Swanson and David Tait Jr.

Possibly because of the constant teasing of their looks and the DNA result of the 2 other men, they opted to go for a DNA test as well with their families. As fate would have it, they had a similar ‘switched at birth’ story.

As much as they badly and angrily want answers, no one has any to offer, unfortunately.

David Tait Jr. said:

“I want answers so bad. It’s going to affect us one way or the other, I know that. It’s going to be a long journey.”

These subsequent discoveries have marred the reputation of the government run hospital. Eric Robinson, Manitoba’s former legal personnel and the spokesmen for Leon Swanson and David Tait Jr. has categorized the switch as criminal.

“What happened to them is criminal. Lives were stolen. You can’t describe it as anything less than that.

“We can live with one mistake, but two mistakes of a similar nature is not acceptable, so we can’t simply slough it off as being a mistake. Indeed, it was a criminal activity in my view.”

The families who were victims of the switch have decided to come together as one family and heal together.
