Recent report from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) consultancy says that the ancient and beautiful British city of London has been named the world’s best city for the rich.
The report was published last week after a survey that was conducted by PwC in December 2015.
PwC is a multinational professional services network headquartered in London, United Kingdom, with firms in 157 countries, 756 locations, with more than 208,100 employees.
It is the second largest professional services firm in the world, and is one of the Big Four auditors, along with Deloitte, EY and KPMG.
Voting London as the world’s best city for the rich was based on a study of the information obtained from over 5000 well-educated, high net-worth adults from 16 countries around the world.
These 5200 people who are aged up to 18 and above considered factors such as culture, entertainment, infrastructure, health and general happiness of various cities of the world.
London has always been a popular city in the world. It is the capital and most populous city of England and the United Kingdom
Measured by international arrivals, London is the world’s most-visited city. Wikipedia refers to London as the world cultural capital.
It is one of the world’s leading financial centres; one of the top 6 largest metropolitan area in the world.
According to the published report from PwC, when you talk about quality life, London is the go-to place for tourists. It rates London high above other cities in terms of a well-developed infrastructure, legal system and health services. The report called London a ‘dynamic city.’
The report however is drawn in 2 contexts: Perceptual and the actual rank.
While London maintains the top spot for both the perceptual and reality rank; Paris ranks 2nd in the perceptual list but is 4th in the actual rank; New York ranks 3rd in the perceptual list but 6th in the actual rank.
Africa was not left out in the list of world’s best cities. SA’s Johannesburg made it to the 24th position while Lagos, Nigeria made to the 30th position.
