Filmmakers, AMVCA Calls For Entries For 2017 Edition – Here’s What To Do

This year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) was a good show, delivering to us Adesua Etomi and Daniel K. Daniel as the Best actress and best actor of the year respectively.

The gravy train, however, does not stop with them or for that matter the tens of others who cartered home awards at AMVCA 2016.

AMVCA 2017 is coming and in preparation for what will be the AMVCAs fifth edition, the organizers are already calling for eligible entries for consideration ahead of next year.

AMVCA 2017 is billed to hold on March 3rd and 4th 2017. The categories being considered for the entries are twenty-seven in all. Sixteen of those categories will be open to viewers and 11 categories will be decided by the AMVCA panel of judges.

Complaints about this year’s awards included the fact that results were not a true show of the quality of the film or individual because people with huge social media followings could draw more votes.

It is, however, the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, so viewers have almost all the control. The 11 categories left for panel consideration should, however, soothe the naysayers.

Now to the main business – in order to be eligible for entry to the AMVCAs, the project is expected to be broadcast or publicly screened during the period of October 1, 2015 to September 30, 2016.

See entry guidelines below:
