Tiger Brand said:

“We find this practice alarming and extremely concerning‚ and want to make it very clear that is it unsafe to spray any Doom or any aerosol onto people’s faces.

“Doom has been formulated to kill specific insects which are detailed on the cans‚ and the packaging has very clear warnings which must be adhered to.

“Using this product for purposes other than what it is intended for poses risks and is therefore dangerous.”

“Tiger Brands is in the process of contacting the Prophet to ask him to refrain from such practice.”

Concerned bodies who have caught wind and seen images of the Doom healing night, are raising their voices against the practice.

The Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Cultural‚ Religious and Linguistic Communities (CRL) has also condemned prophet Lethebo Rabalago for “his poison-laced healing prayers”.

CRL is a body that probes into cases of worship abuse. They probe and ensure that believers are not taken for a ride in the name of faith. The commission also released a statement condemning the use of Doom insecticide on worshipers.

It also condemned the act of feeding congregants with snakes and grasses on previous occasions.

“We categorically state that no one should be subjected to conditions that are detrimental to their health and well-being.

“The [CRL] has learnt with shock and repugnance about the practices of Prophet Lethebo who is alleged to use a multi-insect spray Doom to ‘exorcise demons’ from his congregants.

“These kinds of practices were among the reasons why the CRL Rights Commission had to undertake a study to investigate the commercialization of religion and the abuse of people’s beliefs systems.”

In all of these warnings, the Doom healing pastor says that a good sign of the miracles is that no one has been hurt with the harmful aerosol.

He says that everything on earth including Doom belonged to God. In other words he can use whatever the Lord has made to heal his worshipers.
