He got his Position on Mythbusters for his Energetic Personality
Adam Whitney Savage was born on July 15, 1967, in New York City. He grew up in New York and attended Sleepy Hollow High School. Adam received his high school diploma in 1985. As a child, Savage had plans to become an actor, so in fulfillment of his dreams, he went into acting and appeared in a few commercials, music videos, and TV series.
To become better at it, he enrolled at the Tisch School of Arts. A year into his course, the media personality realized that he was not interested in acting while simultaneously learning that his true passion lay in graphics design. Following this realization, Savage dropped out of Tisch School of Arts and delved into graphics design, animation, special effects, and theatre.
The work that Savage did as a special effects artist was what gave him the opportunity to become a co-host on Mythbusters. In 2002, the makers of the show were in the market for a special effects artist who would host the show. They reached out to Jamie Hyneman, and Hyneman decided to ask Savage to be a co-host.
Unlike Hyneman, who is a more reserved person, Savage is an enigmatic, energetic person. This quality drove Hyneman’s decision to include Adam Savage in the show. As co-host, there is a certain balance in the diverging personalities of the two men. Adam Savage’s work requires him to test the veracity of myths through scientific methods.
He co-hosted the show for 13 years before the show’s cancellation in 2016. Before the show’s cancellation, Adam received six nominations from the Primetime Emmy Awards for Oustanding Reality Program.
