When talking about prominent Hollywood actresses, Ari Graynor will possibly not be mentioned among the first 100 names. However, this is not to say that the actress, who began her acting career at the young age of seven, hasn’t done enough to make a name in the industry. This thespian, who has featured in several movies, TV shows, and stage productions, is perhaps best known for her role as the drunken best friend in the 2008 rom-com/drama, Norah and Nick’s Infinite Playlist. Asides from her acting career, Ari Graynor has also made news for her long-term romance with a co-star. That relationship sadly never made it to the altar, and the pair have both moved on with their lives.
Ari Graynor Began Her Acting Career At Age 7
Boston native, Ariel Geltman Graynor, first realized that she wanted to become an actress while she was very young. She informed her parents of her aspirations, and they were extremely supportive of her. They gladly shuttled her from Boston, where they lived, to New York so that she could audition for parts in various stage productions. All these efforts paid off in 1990 when the 7-year-old Ari landed the part of the youngest orphan, Molly, in a production of Annie.
The production was not only staged in America but also in Korea, and she got to travel to the Asian country with the troupe. Upon return to the United States, Ari resumed her schooling whilst landing a part in Into The Woods, a production put up at the Trinity Repertory Company in Rhode Island. She later made her Hollywood debut in 2001 in the popular HBO drama, The Sopranos, playing the character of Caitlin Rucker in about four episodes of the show.
A Look at the Acting Credits She Has Accumulated

In Bad Teacher, Graynor played the starring role of Meredith Davis, a disgruntled divorcee who resorts to teaching in the hopes of meeting and marrying a rich single dad. The series premiered on CBS in mid-2014. It ran for about ten episodes and received mixed reviews from fans and critics.
On the other hand, I’m Dying up Here is a comedy series that explored the comedy scene in 1970s L.A., as well as all the ambitious hopefuls hoping for a breakthrough in their career. Graynor portrayed one of such hopefuls named Cassie Feder, and the show ran for two seasons, with a total of 20 episodes.

Graynor’s movie career has, for the most part, been limited to supporting comic roles, such as the best friend, the sister, or the roommate. This changed in 2012 when she landed the lead role in the comedy, For A Good Time, Call… The movie follows two roommates who make their living by becoming phone sex operators, and Graynor portrayed one of them named Katie Steele. Her performance fetched her praise from sources such as Entertainment Weekly, who compared her to Kate Hudson.
Graynor has featured in several Broadway and off-Broadway productions, including Trust, Boy Brooklyn, Relatively Speaking, The Little Dog Laughed, and The Performers. Her latest theatre project is the off-Broadway adaptation of the award-winning play, Yen, in 2017. Things, however, change after their animal-loving neighbor, Jenny, befriends them and motivates them to take an interest in the world. Yen featured the likes of Lucas Hedges and Justice Smith while Graynor portrayed the role of Jenny.
Her Four-year Romance with Eddie Kaye Thomas
Concerning her romantic involvements that are public knowledge, Ari Graynor was rumored to have dated Johnny Galecki, a popular Belgian-born Hollywood actor famous for starring in sitcoms like The Big Bang Theory and Roseanne. The two reportedly dated in 2006, but it must be stressed that this relationship was never officially confirmed.

Ari and Kaye first met each other in the course of the 2006 off-Broadway play, Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, which they both featured in. They later commenced a relationship and remained together for about six years. During this period, the couple attended several charity events together, including the Broadway Cares Benefit in November 2007, as well as the 15th Annual Alzheimer’s Benefit.
They were also spotted at many industry events, including the film premiere of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. However, Ari and Kaye sadly called it quits in 2012.
