The name Arnelle Simpson might not ring a bell to you until you realize she was that little girl that appeared alongside her father, the legendary former NFL player, O.J. Simpson, during his murder trial in 1994.
In case you do not recall, on the 13th of June, 1994, the dead bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson, O.J.’s ex-wife, and Ron Goldman were found outside Brown’s condominium in Brentwood, Los Angeles. The two bodies had both been stabbed several times and O.J. was identified by police as the prime suspect. His subsequent arrest and trial was a must watch event in the United States, as it received media coverage surpassing the coverage given to the Oklahoma City bombing and the Bosnian War combined. It was further dubbed the trial of the century.
Through all this, Simpson stood by her father, vigorously defending him at whatever chance she got and somewhat becoming a celebrity figure. After so many years, the young girl has still found herself to be playing defender to her athlete father, as she again appeared beside him during his 2007 trial and 2013 parole hearing.
Arnelle Simpson Biography
Arnelle Simpson was born on the 4th of December, 1968, to Marguerite L. Whitley and O.J. Simpson, who got married to each other just a year before her arrival in June, 1967, when O.J. was 19 years of age. She has two younger brothers; Jason Simpson, who was born in 1970, and Aaren Simpson, who was born in 1977 but died just two years later in 1979 after he drowned in the family swimming pool.
In March 1979, O.J. and Marguerite divorced. Before the divorce, however, O.J. met and began dating Nicole Brown in 1977. Following the divorce, Arnelle lived with her mother while her father moved to stay with his new girlfriend. Not much was subsequently heard about the little girl until her father was in the news for allegedly killing Brown, who he had married and divorced.
Arnelle Simpson was always present in court at her father’s trials. Her mother, Marguerite, who nothing had been heard about since the divorce, was also present to show support to her children, if not their father. Following O.J.’s acquittal, nothing again was heard about Arnelle until her father got into trouble again almost a decade later.
Ms. Simpson, as she had done as a child, stood beside her father during his new trials, making her arguably the most well known Simpson child as her popularity soared. As things would pan out, her father’s luck seemed to have run out and he was this time convicted and sent to jail.
Arnelle Simpson continued to give support to her father while he was in jail, even appearing for him during his parole hearing. She made an emotional testimony at his 2017 parole hearing, which arguably ensured he got a unanimous vote from the Nevada parole board to be eligible for early release. At the time, O.J. had served nine years in prison for robbery.
Arnelle Simpson has earned a good sum of money from appearances in documentaries and miniseries. Some of the documentaries and series she has appeared in include Is O.J. Innocent? The Missing Evidence, Mugshots and O.J. Simpson: Chasing Freedom. Besides this, it is not clear where else she has been able to earn money from. A few reports, however, indicate that she was put in control of her father’s wealth when he was behind bars.
As of 2019, O.J. Simpson, according to Celebrity Net Worth, has an estimated net worth of $3 million. Before his run-in with the law, however, his net worth was in tens of millions of dollars. That figure has since dropped down following numerous legal fees and the verdict from the civil case against him concerning the wrongful death of his ex-wife Nicole Brown, where he was ordered to pay $33.5 million.
What Is She Up to Now?
Arnelle Simpson has tried to keep details about her life as private as possible, only coming into the spotlight when it involves her father’s trials. Other than that, there is little known about what she is up to right now. The only thing that is known is that she supposedly resides in Fresno, California.
