The certified meteorologist was born in New Jersey, United States of America, on January 29, 1985. The name of her mother is Marie Picciano Scott. Cheryl Scott has two older brothers named Brain and Kevin and they grew up together in Atco, Camden County, New Jersey. She attended Paul IV High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey.
She later completed her higher education from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where she graduated in 2007, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geographical Sciences. Scott further achieved certification in Meteorology from Mississippi State University in the year 2010.
She Choose Journalism Over Sports
Since her childhood, Cheryl Scott has nursed the desire of pursuing a science-related career following her keen interest in science and atmospheric phenomenon. She has also been sports inclined, having participated competitively in track and field while in high school, which later got her recruited by Brown University to run track for the Division 1.
Despite sports playing a big part in her life, the famous American journalist eventually pursued a career in the journalism field and kicked off her professional career as a journalist in 2006, working as an intern at Philadelphia-based TV station, WCAU-NBC 10. Later in the following year, she landed another job opportunity as a weekend weathercaster at WSEE-TV situated in Erie, Pennsylvania. During that time, Cheryl also got a forecasting gig at a 24-hour Caribbean TV channel. She simultaneously worked at both stations for a while before moving to Knoxville, Tennessee.

Following her level of professionalism, as well as her work ethic, the proficient meteorologist was recruited by another NBC affiliate channel, WBIR-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee. Since August 2016, she has been forecasting Chicago’s unpredictable weather on ABC 7’s newscast at 10 PM, as well as the network’s newscast at 4 PM and 5 PM.
Her experience and knowledge in the field of weather forecasting have equally landed her roles in some of the station’s programs such as Good Morning America Weekend Edition. Cheryl’s love life has garnered much media attention in the past years as the elegant looking meteorologist has been linked to quite a number of romantic partners. In early 2015, she was rumored to have had an affair with a former left-winger of the Chicago Blackhawk named Patrick Sharp, who was married with two kids at the time.
Prior to the rumor, the retired professional ice hockey player had also made news headlines following series of cheating rumors which he had refuted including that of him having an extramarital affair with Cheryl Scott. Cheryl also quelled the rumor with her Instagram post about people standing up for justice and truth, which she shared during that time.
A few months later, still in 2015, she began dating Josh Lachelli, the owner of Home Slice Pizza. The two were spotted on a vacation in Italy and were posting pictures of them spending time together on their respective Instagram pages. Cheryl Scott met Dante Deiana, a DJ, sound and music engineer and entrepreneur, at a charity event. Soon after, the pair bonded and began a relationship in 2016. Later in July 2018, when the two love birds were on holiday in Hawaii, Deiana proposed to the beautiful reporter at the summit of a 10,000-foot high Haleakala volcano.
Two years into their engagement and the wedding bells are yet to sound, however, from all indications, the couple seems to be doing just fine.
