The former Disney star was born as Demetria Devone Lovato on the 20th of August 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico but actually grew up in Dallas, Texas. She is an eclectic blend of several ethnicities including Mexican, Irish and English.

Demi Lovato commenced her career at the age of 7 when she featured in the Disney show Barney and Friends alongside Selena Gomez. Demi Lovato is quite an activist. She uses her celebrity profile to campaign for several issues close to her heart including LGBT rights and anti-bullying (she was bullied while in school and as a result, asked her mother to homeschool her until she graduated and obtained her high school diploma a year earlier in 2009). Demi is also an ambassador of the Mean Stinks campaign which aims to stop bullying by girls in school.

In March 2018, the entertainer performed at the March For Our Lives rally against gun violence in Washington DC. Demi Lovato is also a huge mental health advocate having struggled with issues such as eating disorder and depression herself. In fact, she has also admitted to self-mutilating and was diagnosed as bipolar in the year 2011. Demi Lovato has received several citations and recognition for her efforts. Her father Patrick Martin Lovato (late) is Mexican, Portuguese, and Jewish while her mom whom she credits as being the biggest inspiration in her life is Irish and English. Demi Lovato has three sisters namely: Amber Lovato (her older paternal half-sister), Dallas Lovato (her older sister), and Madison De LaGarza (her younger maternal half-sister).

Demi’s younger sister Madison is also an actress and featured in Desperate Housewives as Juanita Solis, daughter of Carlos and Gabrielle Solis played by Eva Longoria.

Boyfriend, Who’s Demi Lovato Dating?

Demi Lovato has been romantically involved with several people including Cody Linley whom she dated when starting out in Hollywood between 2007 and 2009. It is said that she dated Alex DeLeon of The Cab rock band between 2008 – 2009. Also, Demi briefly dated Miley Cyrus’ brother Trace Cyrus in 2009.

That’s not all, the musician reportedly dated her very good friend Joe Jonas in 2010. Her most known and long lasting relationship till date is with actor Wilmer Valderrama. Their relationship lasted for 6 years between 2010 and 2016. Demi has credited him with helping her through her recovery and just last year, revealed that she has never loved anybody like she loved him.

Following their breakup, Demi reportedly dated Luke Rockhold, it was a shortlived relationship which ended in December 2016. In January 2017, Lovato started a relationship with MMA professional fighter Guilherme Vasconcelos. They dated for a few months before breaking up.
