He also later served as Clinton’s senior aide and advisor for policy and strategy.

Who is George Stephanopoulos?

In 1983, he attended Balliol College at the University of Oxford, England and graduated with a masters degree in Theology a year later.

Following the end of his program at Oxford, Stephanopoulos returned to the United States and settled in Washington, D.C. to begin his career in politics. He stated in his best-selling book, All Too Human: A Political Education, that he battled depression due to the excessive demands that his role required. The book is simply an account of his time spent with Bill Clinton, from the campaign to his first term in office.

After his run with the White House, Stephanopoulos moved to journalism, specifically broadcasting. He joined ABC as a political analyst for the show segment This Week, which was hosted by another duo at the time.  He took over as the anchor for the show in 2002 which then became This Week with George Stephanopoulos, and he was named Chief Washington Correspondent three years later.
