Philip Dorsett is a native of Miami and was born on the 5th of January 1993. He had his high school education at the St Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Miami where he was a multi-sport athlete; he not only played football but also lettered in sprint as well as long jump. Dorsett recorded some incredible achievements while in high school; he won the 5A Florida State Championship in 2010 and caught a total of 65 passes for 3413 yards, scoring 21 touchdowns in the process.
His winning mentality also extended to other sports asides football. In his senior year in 2011, he came 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 100m and 200m race in a district competition organized by the Florida High School Athletics Association. Due to his amazing performances, Dorsett received offers of football scholarships from several colleges but picked the University of Miami.
At the University of Miami, Phillip Dorsett made solid offensive contributions to the school’s football team and caught a total of 121 passes for 2132 yards, scoring 17 touchdowns in the process. Phillip Dorsett was a first round pick (26th overall pick) in the 2015 NFL draft and signed a four-year contract with the Indianapolis Colts. Dorsett spent two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts before being traded to the New England Patriots in September 2017. However, Dorsett started the 2018 season on a good note. In the season opener against Houston Rockets on September 9th, he caught 7 passes for 66 yards and scored a touchdown.
