Sharon Leal was born as Sharon Ann Leal in Tucson, Arizona United States on October 17, 1972. She had her formative years in California. Moreso, she also lived briefly in the Philippines alongside her stepfather and mother. Sharon attended a prayer school when she was six and subsequently, joined Roosevelt High School of the Arts, Fresno California. She became a vocal apprentice under Seth Riggs and with time, she bagged a music scholarship at the Santa Cruz Jazz Festivals.
Meanwhile, Sharon was said to have desired to be a singer right from her childhood days. She often mimicked a few music celebrities singing on top of her voice on most occasions.
