Her birth name is Tiffany Sarac Haddish, born on December 3, 1979, in Los Angeles, California to an Eritrean refugee of  Jewish and Ethiopian descent Tshihaye Reda Haddish and his wife an African American businesswoman and Jehovah Witness devotee Leola Haddish. Her father abandoned his family when Tiffany was three years old and her mother married another man with whom she had four more children; two boys and two girls making Tiffany an elder sister to four siblings.

Leola, Tiffany’s mom had a motor accident purportedly engineered by her new husband who had tampered with her vehicle brakes in 1988. She suffered severe brain damage and developed schizophrenia due to complications caused by the injuries. Her health condition made her abusive to her kids. Due to this, Tiffany Haddish and her four siblings were placed in separate foster homes when she was just 12; the young Tiffany used her unique sense of humor as a shock absorber to cope with the unsavory situation surrounding her so early in life. Thankfully, 3 years later she was reunited with her siblings.

Tiffany attended George Ellery Hale Middle School, Woodland Hills from where she graduated and attended El Camino Real High School in the same locality. The actress struggled with a reading disability until high school when she met a tutor who dedicated time to put help her overcome her difficulties. Her flair for acting was obvious in her school days as she won several accolades from various drama competitions. However, due to her problematic family background, Tiffany Haddish found herself breaking a lot of school rules and landing in trouble.

She was later urged by her teacher to either attend a psychiatric therapy or join a comedy camp called the Laugh Factory. This was just the nudge the then 17-year-old Haddish needed to move towards the career that brought her fame and wealth. However, it took days of living in a car working as a customer service clerk for Alaska Airlines to support her family, herself before things turned for the better for her.

Her first major break came when she featured in a one-hour stand-up comedy competition Bill Bellamy’s Who’s Got Jokes? She also featured as a guest in shows such as Chelsea Lately, That’s so Raven, Def Comedy, Reality Bites Back, New Girl among many others.

Tiffany Haddish landed her major film roles in movies such as Meet the Spartans in 2008, Janky Promoters in 2009 alongside Ice Cube and Mike Epps. She appeared regularly in the reality TV show  Real Husbands of Hollywood from January 15, 2013.

Haddish was also part of the cast of the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) soap opera If Loving you is wrong, (2014 to 2015) however she only stayed one season before she moved on to feature in NBC sitcom directed by Nicolas Stoller the Carmichael Show as Nekeisha, the wife of Bobby Carmichael who was played by Lil Rel Howery for three seasons.

She appeared alongside Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key in another comedy movie Keanu in 2016. In 2017 she was part of the star-studded movie Girls Trip where she appeared alongside Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Regina Hall. The movie was a box office hit and became the highest scoring comedy of that year.

When she appeared in Saturday Night Live on November 11, 2017, Tiffany Haddish became the first black female stand-up comedian to host the Show. Her memoir  The Last Black Unicorn was released in December that year and was the 15thon New York Bestsellers list.

The Girl Trip Star actress has won quite a few nominations and awards in the course budding career and they include the Primetime Emmy, The BET, and Black Reel Awards. She went home with BET,  Best Actress (2018) in her role in the film Girl’s Trip and Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in Comedy Series of The Saturday Night Live Show (SNL 2018) and the list goes on.

Tiffany Haddish was married to Detective William Stewart in a Church in 2009  but sadly a year after, their union ended as she divorced him twice in 2011 and 2013 (apparently the duo married twice). William helped her locate her dad who had left when she was but a kid. Her dad who really did not give his blessing for the union still was the one who walked her down the aisle making that wedding day the most memorable moment in the life of his daughter.

William Stewart is an Africa-American who was born in New York on June 1, 1978, he holds a degree in Economics from Brown University. After he graduated he worked in his family Bakery business while growing his online consultancy business.

She split with her ex-husband due to alleged abusive nature of their marriage, a claim she made in her autobiography The Last Black Unicorn (2017). William Stewart has took to his social media handle to refute such claims and even took a step further by employing the services of a legal team who in May 2018 sued his ex-wife Tiffany for Defamation and Libel worth $ 1 million.

Admittedly, Tiffany came out open in a YouTube broadcast published on Liala Lyn Channel on July 2018 to say that some of the book’s content was possibly embellished with content she originally never included in her manuscript. We wait and watch how it all plays out in court and if her husband will be heading home with a sizable chunk of his talented ex $4 million wealth.
