He is one of the trio dubbed The New Day – a professional wrestling stable in the WWE which comprises of himself, Big E and Kofi Kingston. The team has racked up four SmackDown Tag Team championships and two Raw Tag Team Championships.

Who Is Xavier Woods The Wrestler?

Famously known by his professional name, Xavier Woods is a pro-WWE wrestler who wrestles in the WWE franchise. He was born in Columbus, Georgia, in the United States on 4th of September 1986, and was christened Austin Watson. Woods was not the first professional name he adopted; he was called Austin Creed, Consequences Creed, and Rasheed Lucius Creed as well as his real name, during his early years in his wrestling career.

Nothing much is known about his family background as well as his formative years but he attended the Sprayberry High School from where he graduated in 2004. He would later enroll at the Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina where he studied psychology and philosophy. He graduated with a master’s degree in psychology and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.

His Career As A Wrestler

Xavier Woods’ journey into the world of wrestling began in his days in the University when he began training as a professional wrestler. In the year 2005, he took a shot at the ring on a part-time level with Rob Adonis’ Ultimate Christian Wrestling promotion.

When he found himself in the NWA Anarchy, he adopted the moniker Austin Creed with great influence from Rocky series character Apollo Creed. There in NWA Anarchy, he was part of the tag team known as Awesome Attraction with Hayden Young. They had one of the longest title reigns in the promotion’s history after defeating Justice Served (Jason Justice and Mike Free) in Cornelia, Georgia on April 7, 2007. He was named the NWA’s Most Influential Wrestler based on the votes by the NWA fans.

He spent a few years in the NWA Anarchy before heading to the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) where he adopted another moniker – Consequences Creed. In TNA, Xavier paired with R. Truth (Ron Killings) and formed a tag team popularly known then as Truth and Consequences. He wrestled in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling championship (TNA) till April of 2010 when had a short but a successful stint at New Japan Pro Wrestling.

On 22nd of July 2010, Xavier Woods signed a development contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), he used his real name on his debut for WWE’s development territory Florida Championship Wrestling tag team match on July 29 where he paired with Percy Watson against Brodus Clay and Donny Marlow.

Unfortunately, Xavier’s side lost the match. After his promotional stint for over three years, the wrestler paid his former TNA mate, R. Truth, to form a tag team. The duo was together from 2013 up until 2014 when they parted ways following unsuccessful outings.

Xavier Woods, in 2014 formed a formidable tag team with Big E and Kofi Kingston known as The New Day. They have since won the WWE (RAW) Tag Team Championship twice, and WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship for a record of four times as well as WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament (2018). He has also fought on a personal level against the superstars of the industry like John Cena, Big Show and the many more. What more can a young wrestler ask of?

Away from the arena, Xavier Woods has shown his prowess as a good YouTuber. His YouTube channel UpUpDownDown created on the 18th of March 2015, has racked up over 2 million subscribers and the wrestling videos on his channel have been viewed over 300 million times. The major content of his YouTube account is uploaded wrestling video games in which he invites wrestlers, professional gamers, as well as celebrities to play with him.

Xavier Woods is not a short wrestler. The Georgia born wrestler and YouTuber stands at the height of 5 feet 11 inches (1.80 m). His height is supported by a weight of 93 kg (205 lb). While his chest size is 55 inches, his biceps and waist size are 20 and 36 inches respectively.
